C's get degrees baby. Was my motto at uni and it rings true tonight haha.

To lose our dominant half last week, have 2 origin players unavailable and 2 quick injuries, to win in the wet by 18 points, away?

I'll take that every day of the week.

Not sold on TMM at halfback though. We play a grinding, purposeful style of play and TMM is too off the cuff for me. Fun as fuck to watch, but I think we have a bit more direction with Luke at half back. Im keen to see what LM does at half behind this pack
TMM is that free spirited maverick that fits outside of Penrith systematic strangulation tactics. He might be great off the bench next week but I still back him to start next week.

Our back three were good under the conditions. I know there wasn't a lot of dangerous arial contests.

But, they did take what was sent down. Good early set runs under the conditions.

Tuaupiki with the break on the kick return. He's been threatening a break for a while.

Also a few tries for the wingers. Both with good put downs in the corner.

AKP with the individual effort to kick off our scoring. DWZ with the intercept to finish things off.

I can't add anything to that other than to say it is good to win these ugly ones.
Obviously if we had a goal kicker we would be way ahead.

Thank goodness the season is still on track.

Team naming Tuesday is gonna be interesting, a few injuries to account for and the Metcalf situation.

Pretty clear Metcalf has to come in.

Te Maire is a better playmaker than both he and Chanel.

I would put Metcalf at six and find a spot for Channel, even if it is that center, rather than demote him to 14.
Not sure Metcalf is the right call. Culture seems to be all about the team and Metcalf showed that he is about himself. CHT also has massive defense.

Conditions were terrible all day we didn’t play to our best but at least we got the rare win in Kogarah no switches for the side except origin players back would not be switching the halfbacks against Penrith regardless of the kicking situation tonight hopefully RTS is alright

I dont understand why people are still calling for CHT to make way for Metcalf.....when Chanel doesn't play we miss everything he does defensively. And Metcalf is not a good 6. CHT is. The only argument should be who is our 7.

TMM starts next week with CHT next to him. Metcalf comes on to the bench and does a job when required.
Surely metcalf has the same issues as hanson. Would much rather CNK on the bench if he is good to go.

Scrappy game, but we are levels above the Dragons. Thought our defense was awesome but the Dragons attack looks so pedestrian and ineffective.

Lots of errors in our half too which was disappointing to see.

Awesome to get the 2 points, we can now empty the tank next week with a top of the table clash going into the bye.

Sure you are right.

I don't like it (Metcalf for CHT).

It just seems clear that we need some length in our kicking game and a better goal kicker (Metcalf isn't great but CHT isn't a goal kicker).

And I don't think we can afford to lose TMM's straightening of the attack, nor his passing game. His exploiting defenders that over read the play is better than Metcalf and CHT.

I hate Metcalf's defence but TMM somewhat mitigates the loss of CHT were we to go down that route.

I see there is a lot of push back. But I am just looking at the metrics rather than the players likeability, or what I think is fair vs unfair, I am only trying to solve a fundamental flaw in our game using three flawed options.

One thing that grinds my gears is TT doing hit ups. Fair enough if we have a set where the forwards are struggling to get back or he see a broken line. But one time there play broke down so we got a 1st play on about the 40 and it was him taking first carry into the teeth. He is developing into a good FB but shouldn’t be taking those carries.
