The high stress alarm on my watch normally goes off at least 3 times a game. Was surprisingly quiet tonight. Never in doubt. Even at 24-12 I never thought there was a comeback on the cards.
Most of us would have taken 30-12 away in wet weather. We were scrappy and a few uncharacteristic errors but job done.
Bring on next week 1 vs. 2.

Screw those Aussies who thought this would be the dragons first win. The goal kicking made the score look closer than it was. Our middles dominated theirs: Erin (151m), Ford (167m), JFH (166m), TSS (129m), Leka (102m). Conversely only 2 dragons ran over 100m. With that space, we were clinical in patches when we needed to be.

I assume Pomps comes back in next week for RTS. Give him the kicking duties too. If CHT nails them all, this is 36-12 which is a much better reflection of our dominance.

TMM's running game is great but his kicking is diabolical as others have said. If Mets is ready, I'd be tempted to go with him next week. We were lucky tonight Dragons halves don't have a long kick.

It could have been a danger game. The Dragons were probably playing worse a few weeks ago.

As much as they weren't great inside our 20. We defended it. The media keep going about posession under the current 6 again rules like it is impossible to defend multiple sets. It still takes a lot of energt to defend. We got a lot of work in. Also needs to be pointed out with a few injuries meaning changes and guys playing big minutes.

The Dragons scoring first and a lot of posession early could lead to them getting some confidence. We soaked it up and manged to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

C's get degrees baby. Was my motto at uni and it rings true tonight haha.

To lose our dominant half last week, have 2 origin players unavailable and 2 quick injuries, to win in the wet by 18 points, away?

I'll take that every day of the week.

Not sold on TMM at halfback though. We play a grinding, purposeful style of play and TMM is too off the cuff for me. Fun as fuck to watch, but I think we have a bit more direction with Luke at half back. Im keen to see what LM does at half behind this pack

I can't add anything to that other than to say it is good to win these ugly ones.
Obviously if we had a goal kicker we would be way ahead.

Thank goodness the season is still on track.

Team naming Tuesday is gonna be interesting, a few injuries to account for and the Metcalf situation.

Pretty clear Metcalf has to come in.

Te Maire is a better playmaker than both he and Chanel.

I would put Metcalf at six and find a spot for Channel, even if it is that center, rather than demote him to 14.
Personally, i would hate to move CHT out of the 6. Maybe TMM gets better at kicking with more game time and practice? I do not evny the coach in the halves decision. I just think he's one of the best sixes currently and think any configuration of the team with him not at the six does not vibe with me.

Solid enough game, lot to like given the outs we had. Again felt like we left some points out there. Gotta give Ford his dues eh, that kick chase game after being out there so long is why Webby loves him.
Dragon fans look like they've been through it lol, credit to them still turning out for their team.

Don't like to say this but Leka is giving me "Hurrell vibes". Great attack but little else to offer.
I disagree. He's still a pup that can do grown man things. But he is still growing up in maturity and game nous. He would benefit from learning that hard working talent beats talent.

Who the fuck in their right mind wants to move Chanel from 6?

i'm actually happy with that given injuries and rain conditions, hope roger is ok

obligatory chanelwatch comments:
-i have faith in him being a changed man he prob wasn't in the top 3-4 gk options to start the season, spend all week on that at training pls instead of golf, pretty happy with the end of set kicks
- tmm scoring and setting up tries i shouldn't complain about but i would like a touch more structure to creep back in with the left/right for the halves
