Interesting...not naming our Origin players despite both having a lesser work load over the first 10 rounds this year with injuries.
Maybe looking at life after these fellas, if Capewell ends up moving on at the end of the year.

Tell you what tho, that Penny side with out Nate dog, Yeo and Too looks very beatable....

Hope the boys are up for this one

Team named as expected. Surprised to see Barney and Capes not named, but both will likely play big minutes tomorrow so it’s probably for the best that they don’t backup. The last thing we need right now is more long term injuries!

Barnett is named to start in the front row for New South Wales and Capewell in the back row for Queensland in tomorrow night’s opening match of the 2026 Origin series at Accor Stadium in Sydne.

One New Zealand Warriors head coach Andrew Webster has opted to give them a break rather than consider the possibility of them backing up against the competition leaders.

The boys should be up for this, we owe them some receipts from last year. Hope we single out Leota as well.

Main concern as others I have is our long kicking game, this will be a grind and if they have good field position it will be hard to stop them.

Good to see Hason on the extended bench again too,
Navigator was saying Jetts better which is probably true for his ceiling but Webster most definitely sees him gelling into the team also.

I like giving the Origin boys a break. We've been on a great run and we aren't winning the comp this weekend. We get a free team evaluation against the standard setters

Balls of steel from the Wahbstermeister to not name our two Origin players! Every other team, including Penrith, appear to have named their Origin reps in their extended lists. Such a vote of confidence in our young cohort who will be breathing fire to show Webster his faith is well founded. Giving Capewah and Barnett a rest might pay dividend down the track especially with the Bye to follow.

It doesn't look like the NSW cup team has been announced yet but it will be facinating to see who is named there. CNK, Berry and Metcalf are all possibilities.

It is good to see Metcalf has been named on the extended bench which indicates all his medicals and contracts are sorted and signed and he must be close enough to match fit to play.

It will be interesting to see which of the four Panther Origin reps play if any, and how Liam Martin goes back from injury. Super pumped for this game, it will be a great test for our game plan, team spirit and next man up philosophy.

Literally we gotta win this to fire the first shot before finals comes and make ourselves noticed, which will give us an edge going into the finals that or if we do happen to lose at least a close ending finish, which would give us all the world of confidence that we can match it with the best heading towards finals

Webby giving our young players, final footy style intensity game experience before the big dance is a masterstroke from Webby... Win or lose the experience will invaluable for these young players going through... Hope Metcalf is in NSW cup team and wants to fight for a spot in 1st grade, we need all players on board cause we know anything can happen on the field for the next man to step up....
