How did Tom Ale go today?
Bunty and Going were better, but Durbin should be in Flegg – how he starts is beyond me. Setu Tu, Laiman and Kali were poor on that left edge, with 3 of 4 tries coming down their side. Not sure what the rules are, but hopefully the Cup side gets their spine back for finals. Knowing Webby, he’ll probably stack the extended bench like he did in 2023. Would be a real injustice if they don’t get to the big dance on GF day.

Ale played bigger minutes than Bunty
Bunty did some unusual stuff three excellent passes big catch of a tricky attacking kick defending the try line
I d rate Ale and Bunty equal but my viewing device was poor
Both of them would be an upgrade in the Fg side but the Fg coach is so stubborn he has put both of them in the fridge

Looking back to the 2024 NSW Cup thread it was every NRL player is eligible if your NRL team is still alive otherwise it's 8 games. Tuaupiki has 5, TMM 6 and Leiataua 4. TSS scrapes in with 9. I think there's a loophole that if you've played more games in Cup than NRL you're also available under 8 games but no one fits that criteria.

Looks correct - I found this 2024 rulebook:

Finals Eligibility
  • 13.12. To be eligible for the Jersey Flegg Cup or NSW Cup final series a player must meet the following criteria:
  • 13.13. A starting player is not eligible to play in two levels of the final series scheduled on the same weekend.
  • 13.14. If a player has participated in an equal number of matches in a higher level or lower-level competition at the conclusion of the regular season, the player will then qualify for the lower level final series and therefore be eligible to play in the higher-level final series.
  • 13.15.
    13.15.1. The player has played the majority of or equal number of matches in NSW Cup or Jersey Flegg prior to the final series commencing, or;
    13.15.2. The player has participated in a minimum of eight matches in the Jersey Flegg or NSW Cup prior to the final series commencing, or;
    13.15.3. The player’s higher level team is still competing in the competition or designated final series, NB: if the higher grade is eliminated on the same weekend prior to your club’s match, players who do not qualify under any other category apart from others listed above will be permitted to play on that weekend only e.g. if the NRL team is eliminated on Friday or Saturday and NSW Cup match is on the Sunday, players who do not qualify under any other clause will be permitted to play on that Sunday only.
    13.15.4. The player has qualified in a lower level, or;
    13.15.5. The player has failed to gain selection in the NRL final series, these players will be required to have played in two matches throughout the lower-level competitions final series to be eligible to continue playing in that final series, therefore eliminating any of the previous eligibility criteria.
  • 13.15.6. The player has played the majority of regular season matches in the competition the player is seeking eligibility to participate in.
  • 13.15.7. Where a player has played equal games in two competitions, the NSWRL will make the final decision as to where the player’s eligibility lies

Oh I was meaning across the board of who should move out from cup and move back in :).
if either TMM or Boyd become available then Laiman immediately goes (he actually will go as soon as Hanson is back too). It would be interesting to see who they'd choose if it came down to Hanson or Cleary to partner Boyd/TMM. Hanson was the preference earlier in the year but who knows after his injury. If Healey drops down then it's probably Tafua, although maybe he'd still be on the bench. Your man Harper would get pushed aside for Ali.
It'll be a bit of a nightmare to plan for by the coach, particularly if the NRL side get knocked out in Week 1 (which is Week 2 of NSW playoffs) & someone like Tuaupiki or TMM potentially become ineligible. Boyd (assuming he was involved in a hypothetical situation of a NRL Week 1 elimination) suddenly becomes available in Week 3 NSW Cup playoffs though if my understanding of the rules is correct.
Vaimauga was available for Cup playoffs last year but didn't drop back though so I'm only spit balling
