General Warriors NSW Cup 2026

Hm so Linnane as a ball playing centre, might be a ploy to move him eventually back 1 to FB rather than in?

We have 3 FG centres plus berry, and Lemana is also at centre today?

Don't want to be a downer but Hanson is too Vanilla for me.

Gannon off injured, looks like another HIA. or hopefully just a busted nose (looked like he got a busted nose at the start of the game).

Man we need him for SOO period for that 80min role…

Looks like we have found our ball playing center.

Someone is going to have to move out for him, either Pomps, or Roger or most likely he is gonna take Ali's Jersey.

He is a skinny little thing but he is really wiry (good leg drive for his size in the hit ups). Obviously he is faster than Roger and Ali.

Typical half playing wider, ball out in front, looking for support runners or flying up in support of a break (your dream center really).

Defence has been ok but as you know it is hard to tell in NSW cup (better than Ali anyway).

You can see why Cappy thinks he is a star.

As you can probably tell I am VERY excited.
I’m just going off what I’ve seen others say when referring to Mason Barber, who’s playing centre but generally a fullback that they think he’s been put there to brush up defensively. I wonder if there could be a similar situation for Linnane and fullback is where they see him? Sounds like you are impressed by him at centre though

Full time
46/4
Happy with all players bar Doyle who made a few fumbles
Marata was strong in his carries but just too few of them as usual
Edge defence both sides strong
But Storm were low quslity

Enjoyable game. Much higher completions from our side than in some previous, but still giving away too many set restarts.
I am excited to see how guys like Neal and Linane go in the next couple weeks against Dragons (5th) and Panthers (1st). May lose Marata and a couple like EIT or Fatialofa to the NRL side to cover Origin players though.
I still don't understand Doyle at fullback. He did ok today, but would be great to get a player like Ratcliffe out there. Maybe thats where Linane will go in a couple weeks.
Is Cassius Tia still with the Warriors?

We will have our answer next week.

On today's showing, if that is the plan, you drop Doyle like a hot rock and bump Linane straight in there.

My sense is that he has probably been shredding at the training and they want to find a a way to fit him into a system that has a glut of halves and very average centers.

I guess I have always wanted to see a ball playing center at the Warriors, we have only ever had one in Dean Bell and that was for one season.

Having a guy that plays center who can slot into the halves like Jamie Lyon is too rare in the NRL (because teams can't afford to spare true ball players to center).

Or...you go the way of G.I. and Latrell, make play the guy in both positions.

This is his first NSW cup game. The questions going into this season were whether he could get through a game and still have his speed and whether he could handle playing against men. I was surprised as I said earlier how robust he looks running into a tackler for a skinny dude, certainly less of an issue than someone like rag doll Taine TPK.

Thing is he was put on the left, where Roger is vacating and where you need a fast center to keep up with AKP and service him with good ball.....the stars seem to be aligning.

Frankly Linane is better than all those players, I would start the calculus with that fact.

We shouldn't be surprised though, I know people go on about glazing and all that bs, but this is different, this is a junior star that we knew was a star, so no one should be surprised or waiting to give their grubby -keyboard fingers - 'Warriors' seal of approval just coz he is wearing blue red white and green this week.
