NRL NRL Round 5, 2024 Discussion

Hmm.......is it better for us if Manly pile on the points here?

No doubting they have strike across the park......but if your used to tearing defences apart, and then u come against a rock solid one (like ours should be) and all of a sudden u have to actually work for points, can lead to a tendency to panic and implode (well thats what ill be hoping for next week anyway)

Yes. Emotional week for them. Let them eat cake.

Problem is they are tearing apart the Penrith defense which for the last couple of years has been the best.

I think getting them into a grind is the key. There a team that like things to be happening all the time.......do what we did tonight.....kick to the corners, make them have to roll up the sleeves and work it off their line.....rinse and repeat.....see if their willing to put in the hard yakka.

Not doubting their strike at all, they've had that for a few years now. Manly has always been a team ive suspected of having a soft underbelly........however no doubting if u let them play how they want, they can put on points in a hurry.

Penrith losing here is actually good for us in terms of the ladder. Manly doing so well is good in the sense we are going to get a real test of where we are at next week..... if this manly side turns up. If the manly side of previous weeks turn up however, we won't have anything to worry about. They really are a jekyll and hyde team. Sort of like us in previous weeks.

We should finish in 5th or 6th this week!

Manly and Souths are twins in this regard.
Souths could easily have poured it on and ended tonight's game by half time.

Souths started that way, out playing us through the middle, but when we stood up and scrambled, eventually they clocked off and got killed by CHT, RTS, and Montoya kick returns which set up other Dummy half runners to take us over the halfway.

Every time we cross the halfway we look like the Penrith type organism.

I have quite liked watching Manly play this year. Initially I was watching to see how Brooks would go after getting away from the Tigers. Also how they would go with another playmaker.

They played well in the Vegas and in round 2. The Eels game was a good game. Last week they were poor.

They can move the ball quite well. We will need to work for it next week.
