Comes down to accuracy and timing.
Our players are unable to time their runs to speed up our movement across the park because of a lack of accuracy in the passing.
That lack of accuracy is a function of the lack of high standards in New Zealand League from school through to club.
A typical Warriors play will see our back line a little jagged, players standing still or moving slowly because they have to be extra careful about catching ball from service that is off.....watch our guys slow down to take miss aimed passes, watch them reach above their heads sometimes, watch them reach behind them.
Fundamentals. The basics. This is why Websters insistence on structure as a foundation through completions is the only pathway to getting us to one day look more like these teams playing tonight.
Look at how the Dogs have gone from being slow to fast with ball movement under the same game plan we play. Just proves if you have enough Aussies that your team will end up looking faster across the park...nothing to do with player speed of foot.
There are top ESL teams that look faster than the Warriors with ball movement and accuracy because the Poms play in school and can time a pass, pass on the run etc.
Dogs lucky not to get a bin on that.
