Cronulla Sharks playmaker Braydon Trindall has failed a roadside alcohol and illicit drugs test.
Trindall will not play this weekend for the Sharks against Canberra on Sunday and the matter is under investigation with the NRL Integrity unit.
He’s facing a court appearance in May after being charged by police for recording a mid-range blood alcohol reading.
Trindall is waiting for a secondary test result to ascertain the level of illicit drugs in his system.
Adding to Trindall’s woe is that he was charged while holding an expired licence.
The Sharks will release a statement on Tuesday afternoon to confirm the matter.
This masthead understands Trindall reported the matter to Sharks management and the NRL Integrity Unit on Monday morning.
He will be replaced by Daniel Atkinson for the game against the Raiders.

We hear about how players shouldn't be out in the early morning as that is when trouble happens. Okay we don't know the time this was occurred but it sounded like he had quite a bit in him.

After getting off the assault charges last year he should be watching himself. He got off that but anytime you are involved with the legal system it can go either way. He should have been watching himself. We don't know the full context but still this would be the type of incident he would be going off on if it was a player. They could have gotten injured and not been able to play.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this. Or things just move on like nothing happened.

For a guy who reports on boxing and has meant to have had some training. That all went out the window.

Have to admit it was funny when he ended upside down next to the tree.

What did he say to the guy that set him off near the end?
Something head. If it was something about the guys ethnicity then he got what he deserved.

Was it dog head?
That's what I heard but wasn't sure if it may have been wog. Just due to the reaction it got.

He obviously took offence to something said to him as they walked past. Well the players would get it a lot worse from opposition supporters.

If it was anything to do with his previous case for example. Well players would get that as well.

Next time there is a player related issue it will be hard to take him seriously. This thread is currently 25 pages. Quite a few of them have been due to Kent. You could argue he's been more of an issue for the game than the players recently.
