NRL NRL 2026 General Recruitment Thread

$750k transfer fee isn't chicken feed though. Now they get nothing but salary cap space.
i don't even know what a club does with those sorts of discretionary funds, the parramatta leagues club reported a $21M profit last year, Australia is a weird place, literal cash fed into pokie machines by punters propping up some of the most well-funded sports clubs in the world (non-usa, non-football)

Xerri doesn't like playing right centre. You used to hear a bit of discussions from ex players/coaches how modern players can only pass one way. If he moves on he could pigeon hole himself. The next club may have a gun centre coming through they want on the right. What's he going to do then play NSW Cup, move to the left or request another release.

At the Storm you could see it working like Bennett recruiting Jack Bird to play in the halves. Play him where they recruited him or promised to play him for a bit. But it's best for the team for you to move.

I'd say there is more to it. A lot of talk with the Dogs how they are going to fit their gun young half in and fit in Burton.

Burton to centre and move Galvin to 6 is the likely solution.

Likely seen what happened with Sexton and Mahoney and see that he will be next to be moved on. Just reported he wasn't goint to be re-signed.

A big part of the Bulldogs success has been off the back of Burtons big boot kicking teams down field to keep them working their way up field. Since Galvin has come in the amount of kicking Burton has done has seemed to decrease. Move him out of the halves and that would decrease further.

Stand outside with Gould and ask him if it is raining. You'd still need to double check his answer.

Often he has some wiggle room in that he can come back and say I didn't say this specifically. That statement says he spoke with Xerri and his manager who are the main people you'd need to contact. I was expecting to read I haven't heard from either, then weeks later after he's released and Gould is asked about it. "I said I hadn't heard from his manager or Xerri. They talked to the coach her talked to me".

‘Neither Bronson or his manager have asked for a release’

Once the deal is done and dusted they will do that as a formality 😉

Bulldogs had no dealings with Galvin before he arrived too. Think everyone knows Gould is full of shit

The optics are kinda funny.

Obviously he knows a lot about operations, but when denies all this stuff and then it happens anyway, it seems like the club operates without him.

I know it's most likely just him lying through his teeth but it makes him look weak, in my opinion.

Some suggestions thought bubble journo add on that Titans might pick up 1 or 2 dragons players
Apparently Titans have salary cap limitations - yeah right - running last- and burnt the salary cap
