Exactly. Simonsson changed his tune when he was reminded that Lomax wouldn’t be here next year. He is the replacement, and the Lomax money goes toward keeping the youngsters that merkins always whinge about losing.

Just consider this when mentioning the cap, none of the youngsters are on the NRL cap, so would suggest there is some real wriggle room for 2026.

If we don’t have that, then real questions need to be asked. KK if he is a available its for 2027, so that shouldn’t be in the calculation, needs to be some resolution to signings as there are I believe 4 positions to fill, but 2 before round 1 at a minimum.

Understand Ryles wants a player who fits what he sees as the right fit for the group as an individual as well as a player. The winger Taulagi is of interest, but he is looking at returning to NZ. So wait and see

Listening to an interview on SEN league with Perth CEO, he said just because it hasn’t been announced doesn’t mean they haven’t signed anyone. Alluded to players wanting to tell teammates first and some hadn’t returned to training which suggests some experienced signings.
