NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

Knights have been cunning with Tyrone Thompson now going from development contract in 2025 to a top 30 contract in 2026. If they play their cards right, he might be close to as good as Leo by then. Sounds like Connor Votano staying put at knights too. I’d stick around too if I was him, who knows what Ponga will do
Hey dude.
Just wanted to say.
Thanks for all your updates on the breaking news etc from all the outlets and club sites and forums.
I keep an eye on things myself but you are the man in this area.

I think even though I know no details my leaning is to be on David's side having seen people be targeted in the work place before where yes they made a few mistakes but not worthy of their outcomes afforded to them.
He is too good for NSW cup I wouldn't risk getting injured if I were him either,
Yet look at someone like TMM. Putting in player of the game matches week in week out and showing he’s too good for that grade. Actions speak loudest

The powers that be saw Madge as an old school disciplinarian to wrest back the soft underbelly of the Broncos.

Society has moved on. Young guys don't respond to that anymore. Leaders with that approach are dinosaurs. You have to be relational in this day and age. Cleary, Bennett are father figures, and as ruthless as the Storm is I'd say Bellamy treats his guys with a lot of respect.

Apparently, Mahoney approached the Dogs and asked to leave when he found out they were serious about getting Galvin in ASAP.

Take it with a grain of salt, but the rumour doing the rounds is that there’s a number of Bulldogs players upset with how this has all gone down because they feel Sexton has been screwed over/led on by Ciraldo/Gus

Off sharks forum. Will make my day if true

Glad that someone finally called Gus out on his hypocrisies. His emotional response is clearly a tactic to distract us from the real issue which is the insane conflict of interest he has exploited for far too long. If you are paid 1M plus on channel nine, you really shouldn't be using that position to market your club to a player like he has with Galvin. But beyond Gus, there are way too many opportunities for conflicts of interests in NRL media. Whether it is Braith Anasta holding NRL 360 whilst being a player manager or Gorden Tallis sitting on NRL 360 whilst his wife is a Titans board member. It really shouldn't be hard to enforce complete neutrality (ie no direct ties to clubs/players if you are in a media position). The lack of professionalism in this part of the game has to be cleaned up.

Great post off the knights forum yesterday. Our players and those coming through are starting to get some attention

There’s a very good chance Halasima will be the best back rower in the NRL.

Fish is incredible but the whole reason he’s in NZ now is he got a compassionate grounds release. He’s not coming back to Australia.
IMO, Halasima is the most gifted backrower the league has seen since David Fifita.

With Fish/Barnett/Capewell there as experienced rep-standard forward mentors and Webster generally doing a good job building the Warriors I reckon we'll see Halasima get closer to his potential than what we've seen from Fifita so far, which is exciting and terrifying as an opposition fan.

Add in Vaimauga, Laban and the production line that will follow from their domination of junior pathways comps since re-entering post-covid, the Warriors have the potential to become the next Penrith if managed correctly
