$900k is what the media is saying Brimson, which is far too much for him even if he was at fullback. At the moment he is playing like a middle road centre at best, which is probably worth half of his current contract value. Got 3 years left on his deal too, not sure how the Titans put the equation together for that offer.

If they could get Xerri for say $400k, and get Dogs to pick up half of the contract difference ($2-$300k), they would have to take that. But, the media is likely speculating only here.

Would be a good trade for both clubs. The titans would probably have to pay a chunk of his remaining contract though as AJ is on something like 850k/season until 2030. Titans cap is absolutely fkd

That would be a good get for the Dogs if they could afford it (no way Tits chip in to move Brimston imo).

Could move Brimston to FB, Burton to centre and have Alwood and Galvin as the halves. Improves their team significantly, although I dont think Burton will stay there past his current contract as a centre

There’s a lot of versatility with Brimson though. 2 spine positions and centre.

While not worth 900k, I think like the rest of the Titans players, he would absolutely take his game to the next level with the right coach.

To put that salary in perspective, you could likely sign Herbie Farnworth on that salary. Stephen Crichton, and not that far off Latrell Mitchell. Brimson is a solid player who can cover most spots in the backline, but not to a level that is warranted anywhere near that amount of money. Traditionally utility value but master of none actually lowers a players contract value. They have signed Kini to fullback money also, and is clearly their 1.

I think what is obvious with the Titans squad is they lack depth across the board, and likely this is due to too much cap being spent on players such as Brimson. Cap mismanagement. To put it in perspective, you can give Brimson $900k. Or, sign a solid NRL centre for $450k, and upgrade the bottom 3 squad members. From $200k plodders, to experienced NRL players or young guns worth $350k each.
