NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

For that amount of cash and that length of time, it has to be q Sydney club, moving anywhere else is a huge risk!

This should not be allowed by the NRL.
Looking at all the Sydney clubs, I could only see him fitting into the Bunnies system as Cody Walker is on his last legs. All of the other teams already have solid options at 6/7 Roosters have already mentioned they will not make a play for him.

I think this fits here, but rumours have started that Kalon Ponga is considering a switch away from the NRL to Super Rugby and potentially All Blacks next year. Massive news. I think he would do well, and be similar to SBW in terms of being considered a success in league. (Beaver and the girls podcast reported today)

Dylan Brown going to get chance to show he’s worth the salary he’s asking with Mitchell Moses out for a month. Volkman going to 7 though

I mean, he had a pretty big run last hear with out Moses and shit the bed right?
Can't see him improving and doing much more than that, if anything I can only see this driving his value lower.

He should sign a contract now, before the teams who are interested in him crack the shits at his lack of leadership without Moses...

Fullback or 10 would be a possible fit for him in union

* Brown contract saga still dragging but Knights offer will have contract clauses in it making it less attractive. Eels may keep him and rework a new deal with him.

Hopefully that chocolatey shoulder doesn’t melt. Bit of a Mason Lino I reckon, but you’re right he’d be handy
This Mason Lino talk is a farce. He's a much better player imo and never got a proper chance to be the go to guy like he was in reserve grade. And now we're calling out for a halfback like him

I harp on about him too much though, and he's a filthy Eel now so dead to me .

Mason Lino was a good player too and we got some great victories with him coming into the team. Feels like a pretty close comparison

Yeah, I came across a random podcast with Stephen Donald on it, and he said he got a call from someone in aussie saying Ponga is in talks to come over to play union.

Poster on the knights forum reckons Dylan Brown will be announced as heading to knights today, so will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. Reckons it’s a 5 year deal with mutual options in the final 2 years

Good timing - it was only 46 - 6 at half time in the game he was supposed to be proving himself.
They won the second half though!
