Sure, but just because they did him a favour, they dont own him. They arent even playing him so any story about keeping him is dogshit. This would be different if he was playing for min wage and someone offered more. But this reeks of not wanting others to play with your toys.

If Simonsson was interested in going to a Queensland club, you’d think something could be done there? Dolphins not bad off for outside backs though. Think with Simonsson signed until 2027, there is a feeling of eels having the power with the length of that contract and are often looking for a player compensation to release the player. I’ve noticed Niukore’s name come up and fans would be keen to see him return as compensation. If we were to tell Niukore he won’t be extended past 2026 and would release him a year early, I reckon that would be the ideal scenario for us
