NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

Galvin and Moses had the Tigers with the bullying claims. The best card the Tigers can play if they are going to release him.

Drop the legal proceedings and put some non-disclosure clauses on him. How long that lasts, who knows? In the past, this stuff would be brought up in an autobiography at the end of his career. We don't see as much of those now as people express their opinion via social media.

After splitting up Books, Moses, Tedesco and Woods when they came through at the same time and now Galvin. The Tigers must be dreading dealing with Moses whenever they have young guys coming through.

Tallyn Da Silva the latest

Will be interesting to see because it’s not like Benji didn’t have him playing well. Maybe he’s keen on being a 7 and guiding a team, because both tigers and eels would have had him playing five eighth

I think dogs have a bye this week, would be interesting to see who gets dropped next week, their game plan seem to be structured like ours so doubt he can replace Sexton and provide the same consistency without teenage brain farts against Eels with Moses, the media scrutiny will be huge too, no idea why you want to bring all that to your team that's currently topping the table

Short term pain for long term gain I guess? Could even slot in seamlessly and they truck on? There’s talk they’ll play him in nsw cup for a bit, to get adjusted to their systems I guess? If Sexton wants to depart immediately, it will be interesting who they put there if they don’t deem him ready? Gould obviously rates him so highly

Meninga to be Perth coach
Wow, I thought Arthur was a shoe-in for that.

24 years is a long time for Meninga to be out of the coaching gig (week in - week out). That's a big risk. He also had some damn good players in their prime at Canberra for a 53% winning record in his 4 years.

Roosters winger Dom Young to join Knights in mid-season switch

Is that from here?

Roosters want to wait until they play the Knights so he doesn't play against them. In the past not playing against your old team has been a condition of releases. That would be easier than waiting until they play each other.

If they weren't playing against each other until after June 30 than I suspect it would be a condition.

The Rooster have flicked off quite a few high-profile signings that got a lot of attention at the time they were announced.

I reckon they’re making a big mistake if they’re signing DCE. The game is shifting on from the type of player he is. I just copied it in regards to the young to join knights banner

Just wondering something after the galvin release.
Did we get a transfer fee for afb? We bloody should have if we didn't.
Or is that only for mid season moves?

Glad that someone finally called Gus out on his hypocrisies. His emotional response is clearly a tactic to distract us from the real issue which is the insane conflict of interest he has exploited for far too long. If you are paid 1M plus on channel nine, you really shouldn't be using that position to market your club to a player like he has with Galvin. But beyond Gus, there are way too many opportunities for conflicts of interests in NRL media. Whether it is Braith Anasta holding NRL 360 whilst being a player manager or Gorden Tallis sitting on NRL 360 whilst his wife is a Titans board member. It really shouldn't be hard to enforce complete neutrality (ie no direct ties to clubs/players if you are in a media position). The lack of professionalism in this part of the game has to be cleaned up.

How many times has Gus used his time in the media to attack someone?

He'd often use his slots on various shows to attack someone when they'd come on. David Gallop would come on to explain the Storm salary cap scandal or something else and Gould will be prepped with notes ready to attack.

He often goes against his other colleagues on the same show this incident happened on. He often can't handle people having a different opinion to him.

If he wanted to pursue defamation than Chammas has the right to defend himself. That would lead to both sides needing to ask for and provide evidence. The main point for the discussion was Gould saying they weren't interested in Galvin and things changed recently. Chammas would have the right to get Gould, Moses or who else he suspects to provide email and phone records.

A lot of people bring up defamation either to scare the other party and get an apology. They also probably don't realise what is involved if things proceed.
