NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

Does anyone actually think this wasnt a master plan hatched a long time ago between Gus and team Galvin?

Here's hoping it derails their whole fecking season.
There’s still a bit of talk that the Galvin camp aren’t impressed that this has all been leaked and eels forum a thread up of a backflip. Can’t see it happening but it really sounded like eels thought they had him. If there is genuine discontent at bulldogs though and he’s not going to feel welcome, who knows? For such a young guy there sure is a lot of noise around him. Massive potential, but not a lot of the noise is from performance

No.
One of the assistant coaches at Bulldogs was Galvins coach at school.
His ex school coach is the factor in this switch.

They must have sold him on their vision for him too, surely his happiness on the field came into consideration? Eels obviously were going to play him as a five eighth with Moses halfback. Apparently bulldogs will be playing him as a 7. Many say he’s a running five eighth, but it’s interesting the amount of players seen as running five eighths are transitioning to halfback. We’ve got one, Luai is another and that’s the greatness of Nathan Cleary. In a final he slotted into a running five eighth role seamlessly, but he can also kick and game manage to the highest level

I meant to add Galvin has a very close relationship with this assistant coach so that would have been a big factor
Attributes his success to this guy coaching him at school

I ve only following RL since 1981 and I m yet to understand the difference between 6 and 7
Behind a scrum one is to the left and one to the right
Seems to be bigger all differernce
But there s some greater rugby league experts on here than me who can explain the differernce

We are skinny at lock if Clark gets injured. I know we have Gannon coming but a short term insurance rental at lock - perhaps players of the following calibre: An older player who is ok being a mercenary.
Adam Eilliot (on outer at Knights anyway) capable of playing at an elite level but only when he can be arsed. Which is exactly why is on the outer. But would pick up his lip for a top four team.
Hopgood - Eels are sick of him. Getting embarrrasing roles like part time hooker must be grinding his gears. No one else will want him but good be quite useful in a championship push. OK with being here for a good time not a long time.
Ray Stone - criminally under rated journeyman - valued highly by his team mates and coach. But always has been expendable when push comes to shove.
Ale will do more than a decent job there. We also have Vaimauga who can play Lock.
We need a winger and a winger good enough to be a starter.
Karapani, Wilson, Su’a a few names that come to mind. Hopefully we elevate Sio Kali

Well someone has just posted that Ale is playing lock this weekend in NSW cup. They should have had him there since game one of the NSW cup season. Let's see if he can get some reps in there so we actually can have him as an insurance policy as right now we are really exposed to the point I am concerned.

Your concerns concerning me
Are you not on meds?
I am and am a lot calmer during games

He was a massive eels fan throughout those times and perhaps that’s why they were seen as favourites for his signature? But you’re right, those factors likely played apart
