General Mt Smart Stadium

I agree we need a proper (RECTANGULAR) stadium, but disagree that it needs to be anywhere near the waterfront.

If you look at the great stadiums around the world, they tend to be in central locations but not in absolutely prime space - the likes of Twickenham, MCG, Suncorp, the various grounds in Sydney. I would argue that Melbourne, London, Sydney and Brisbane are definitely proper cities.
So whats the logical equivalent in auckland? Vic Park?

It is good to see investment being made into the ground. A lot different to about 10 years ago when it looked like no investment in the ground and the club would be forced out.

Being the most used stadium in Auckland or whatever the term they us helps. Also the Warriors pulling in the crowds.

Let's hope the Warriors keep having years similar to 2023 and 2025 on the field. Also over all since returning from covid with the crowds. It will put them in a stronger position with any negotiations for upgrades, rents, or future stadium plans.

I pray for a permanent, roofed South Stand

Hey quick question, for those who catch uber after game, which street is the best to catch from?

I usually walk down to Pet Stop in Great South bu was wondering if godmon place and others are better?

It will be interesting to see what 2 games they schedule there. Then the difference between the atmosphere compared to Eden Park.

The more Mt Smart is used, the better. Improve the chances of getting upgrades.

A lot better situation than a few years ago when the Warriors were being pushed out.

Should do some cross code support and try and get close to a full house for the two games to push the case for a move to Mt Smart which secures our stadium as well. Only thing is whether the pitch would hold up to the number of games if AFC, Warriors and Blues there full-time

hopefully its two big nz derbies for the blues. With Auckland FC staying for another ssason (maybe longer) and with warriors crowds it could speed up process in upgrading mt smart.

Rhe whole concept of doing eden park 2.0 is a total waste of money

They probably be more likely to give notice and close the place to force the three anchor tenants to Eden Park if that happens, knowing how dumb the Council can be
Always made me laugh that the Council had endless money to donate to the Eden Park Trust, but empty pockets when it comes to upgrading their owned assets
