Roof that closes and opens by the looks of the plansSo is the cost for the bulldozers and rebuilding
So they never listened to what Joe public wanted.....hmm well that's government for yaRoof that closes and opens by the looks of the plans
Probably need the All Blacks to finally have a loss there and break their unbeaten record. Think it’s almost become a superstition that they will win thereSo they never listened to what Joe public wanted.....hmm well that's government for ya
Where can I see that?Looks like eden park 2.1 has won over waterfront proposal as it in the government's fast track plan
8000 capacity. Jesus that’s setting expectations low isn’t it!!!Wondered what was going on with this story a couple of days ago, after all the previous chat of waterfronts and shared venues. It's becoming clearer now. https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/35044...-be-behind-plan-new-auckland-football-stadium
What a wasted opportunity, two billionaires and all we get is an 8000 seat 'home of football'. Lol8000 capacity. Jesus that’s setting expectations low isn’t it!!!
yEAh BuT DA ABsChrist, but that makes no sense as wasn't the Council the main body considering which option would win out? Someone needs to explain - eden park is such a shit venue
The most interesting thing is that no one wants to play at Eden Park. That might change if they can reconfigure the ground to be a rectangular stadium but that doesn't sound like the plan. Its a few years away but will the council then force teams like the Warriors to play there? The government haven't made the decision on the stadium, there was a process which went through all options and somehow it was the winner (was always going to happen). Auckland council lead the decision. The interesting thing is the last update said there were 2 options still in play, but the MP let the cat out of the bag and said Eden Park was Aucklands preferred.

The government have said the resource consent will be fast tracked on the project, nothing more at this stage.
The promo material has enhanced end stands, a new north stand that looks like the redeveloped south side and a retractable roof… that caters for rugby, league, cricket and football. Opportunity missed to turn it into a rectangle ground and set up cricket elsehwere in Auckland. Cricket at Eden Park is an embarassing joke! The most interesting thing is that no one wants to play at Eden Park.
