we're starting as slight underdogs for this game according to sportsbet- 1.95 vs 1.89. To be expected- I'd be surprised if we start favorites against anyone this year for games in Aussie. The very definition of going under the radar.

Not everyone has just had a 3 month injury before round 1 though. I think it’s a silly risk to throw DWZ straight into a winning side with no match fitness under his belt is all I’m saying
200 game veterans don’t come back through cup unless they had a really damaging injury, he broke his wrist he can still do all the running required.

Will go with Webbys picks... on a side note the borg calculations suggest if we win 12 of the next 17 games . deff in the top 4... 9 games in the 8... 7-9 fighting to make the playoffs... less then 7 try again next year...
TBH I think a lot of it is that it is in Aussie. If this "home" game was at mt smart, we'd be clear favorites imo. But the Suncorp factor makes it an away game for us, especially given that we'll likely be outnumbered by cows fans. Weather forecast is cloudy with some rain this week. Not going to be the hot/humid weather the cows are used to.
I was at magic round 2 years ago when the refs went nuts with the sin bins across the whole weekend. This weekend makes me nervous that we are going to see a repeat.
If anything I reckon they might tone down the Magic Round sinbins, there's been a lot of pushback from coaches and talking heads especially after the sinbin-a-thon we just saw with 18 this round alone (an alltime NRL record apparently).
Interestingly the bs machine has us getting smoked by the cowboys. Who are according to that statistical model are the 2nd best offensive team and the 6th best defensive team. Compared to our 13th best offensive, 8th best defensive.

The wet weather has played in our favour this season, imo.
It neutralizes quick play and promotes forward pack play as the best strategy.
Alot more forgiving for a developing halves pairing.
