This will be watertight before he plays again. That's what Webby is referring to in his comment that LM is not playing due to 'the business side of things."

Hell, Having Metcalf playing this year without the fear of the cost of his injury ramifications makes things feel so much better.
The business side of things are a key point here.

Both side won't want a repeat of the Volkman situation. With Metcalf's injury history they should give him a medical first.

Once he is signed with the Dragons the risk for the Warriors is reduced. Players signing with a club for the following year and then getting injured and having to arrive and rehab at their new club isn't entirely unusual.

When we signed him last year we had the risk with his injury history. We could have been stuck with our main halfback being out for extended periods.

Recruitment you need to weigh up the risk. He could go to the Dragons and be injury free or he could do another major injury in the 1st or 2nd game.

Now that the report of him leaving immediately has been debunked I'm chill!

Because it has been done quickly, there is limited damage done. Like Webby said, the disappointing part was that it played out in the media. If Luke is heading there for the start of the year and this year is now all about team Warriors, then I am happy enough for both him and the Dragons. I'm happy for Luke because his career is on a knife edge a bit. If he treats his team mates and fans with respect and honour then it will be reciprocated. He needs to have the attitude that he can contribute to our finals push and have a big moment for us when it counts at the end of the year.

Yeah a lot of other clubs fans were expecting the Warriors to pay freight in the forums I saw. That's a real WTF?!
Has it been debunked?

There are dozens of posts on reddit about how Isaac Moses orchestrated all of this with Metcalf (yeah that would be cool if he was actually the agent and his people weren't treated like a Venereal disease by Mark Robinson).

I'd be weary of the he will see out the year or be released before June 30 statements until July 1.

There will be rumours either way until he is gone or until that date is past.

Galvin wasn't going to be released from the Tigers either. He didn't see out the year.

Dragons, Hey Luke we are really interested in acquiring your servi-.....
Luke, Can I definitely 100%aly play 7
Dragons, 'nervous glances' uh yeah...
Luke, Were do I sign

If Metcalf does sign with Dragons where does that leave Kade Reed?
I've seen some comments of him playing 6.

He has had a taste of first grade. It will be interesting to see if Young will continue to push him. Hopefully another NRL pre season and his (Read) body is a bit more suitable for first grade.

Metcalf and Read in the halves would mean finding a place for Atkinson who has only just arrived expecting to play in the halves.

Websters comment that Luke Metcalf will be here for as long as he wants to be here is a softening from the clubs official statement that he is a signed player for this season allowed to negotiate for next year onwards.

In reality he it is likely gone in the next little while.

Clubs have signed players in the past and found when they arrive they are suitable somewhere else.

Bennett signing Jack Bird to play 6 at the Broncos is one that comes to mind. He was moved to centre pretty quickly. Joel Moon (can remeber surname, hazy on his first) here under Cleary. Pretty sure he wanted to play 6 and ended up in the centres.

This instance you have a player leaving as he is adamant he only wants to play 7. I'm not across the players the Dragons have in their squad or coming through. It will be interesting to see how things go if he struggles to implement the game plan or someone else comes through the grades, or if similar to this year. He is injured and someone performs in that role.

Now I have found it funny that he wants to play 7. So the media push clubs where he will play 6 partnered with say Moses. Or he could play fullback at this club.

Do people rate him because i honestly think he is really underdone. He on debuted into NSW grade last year in round 26... With a total of 5 NSW grade games and now 2 NRL games. I'd say he needs a lot more time in NSW cup, a lot more time.

People dunking on dragons (and even the bulldogs for entertaining it) for going for metcalf. Have not been watching their games. Those teams need a player with drive to lead from the spine. Even if metcalf only plays the exact same number of games he played last year, their ladder position will 100% be higher. He ani't gonna win them a title, but he's a lot better than what they have and whats on the market.
