I just like that the Warriors got back control of $1m of risk based salary cap.

When you think of all the salary cap the Warriors have to play with now - it might get a hell of a lot interesting soon. They don't let Luke go without a SOLID PLAN.

Wish him well at the Dragons. Yeah, sure he should have shown some guts & fought for his position, but this is business! You don't last long in FG. Your only one wrong tackle away from having to retire & the club forgetting you exisisted 2 months later. He knows what he want's & where he want to play & theres nothing wrong with that. He'll sit down one day & know if this decision was the right or wrong one. Either way, our club is in such great shape that no one really seems to be angry he's leaving, more pissed at 'why' he's leaving.

I don't know about any of you guys but I actually feel sorry for Metcalf a little bit. He just re-signed not long ago and now he's gonna cut his stay short. I reckon he genuinely liked it here. Nobody could have predicted Boyd was gonna play so well and keep Metcalf out of the team. Its a shame he didn't want to give 5/8 a go. No player is before the team. If Boyd does get injured who is gonna be backup half with no Metcalf here?

I know people have jumped to the conclusion that Metcalf has refused to play Cup but I'm more of the opinion that the club told him to take some leave to sort his shit out & now he has a deal in place, meaning there's zero possibility that we have to potentially rehab him beyond October 31st, he'll feature in the comp. Probably not this weekend, but you never know

Let's wait till the ink dries on the 10 day cooling off period or whatever it is, then give it the cautionary blow just to be sure. Then hes more than welcome to lace a boot.

Seems odd to be blocking Hanson and Cleary from developing, but at the end of the day we are up to our eyeballs with a chance this season so the club would see that as more paramount in the short term.

Waited a bit to post about Metcalf
Can see both sides of it;
from Luke’s perspective his shelf life is rapidly expiring and this will be his 3rd club where his progress will have been blocked so I guess he’s looking to finally establish himself.
Club can be disappointed that after the time and patience we have shown with a heavily injured player that he seemingly doesn’t want to be part of the team.
The optics don’t look good for Luke, it appears as a ‘me first’ mentality, the frosty press release from the club doesn’t appear they’re too impressed with the situation.
Personally I was a Metcalf fan but I’m pretty disappointed in the way this has unfolded, it seems pretty bratish behaviour and pretty premature to apparently not want to earn his spot. Running to the Dragons of all places puts things into perspective a bit.
Form can be temporary and I’m still not 100% on the longevity of Tannah’s form at least he’s prepared to put the work in. Luke on the other hand whilst some flashes of brilliance was still very much a work in progress - we are yet to see if Metcalf comes back the same player he was pre injury- it would be kinda funny if he was a dud after the Volkman saga

Imagine the likes of Leka and Demi having to put their bodies on the line for this guy when one of Boyd/CHT gets injured, and getting bossed around the field while he crabs across the park. So we drop TMM off the bench for him next week?
