Funny how he neglects to mention who the Dragons round 12 opponent is?

Tantalising
Fvkk! What a mindfvkk!

By the way, @1995warriorsfan is that podcast reliable?
Apparently yer man there is James Hooper, of which Wikipedia reports:
"As of 2026 he was working as a furniture removalist."

Oh, I get it. He realised he had the inside scoop when Mets gave him a call and said "hey James, meet me and my two suitcases at Sydney Airport, I need help lifting 'em, don’t wanna strain my back. Destination Kogarah. Or maybe Wollongong. They’ll let me know."

CHT was off contract, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise if Metcalf was willing to play 6, we’d likely not have resigned CHT. The entire issue in this is Metcalf has recently and publicly expressed how he sees himself as a 7 and the ‘main man’. All this was born because of his reluctance to play 6 moving forward, we were never relegating him to cup long term when he’s on 900k. Also backed up by the fact Webby threw him straight into 6 upon return
Are you sure? After that he said he'll not change the halves combo from Boyd and CHT. I honestly don't see him coming back into the side at all this year barring a long term injury even without this stuff happening. Boyd has effectively blocked him off with no return in sight as the dude is bulletproof injury wise.

Good on you guys for your positive juju, but as much as I have enjoyed having Metcalf at our club, I can't bring myself to wish him good fortune for 2026. What a bad taste. We have a significantly (imho) weaker squad this year. A lot of people in this country deserve better than that.

An honourable exit for 2027 would have been a different matter. I heartily support all ex-Warriors.

Yes, it provides some potentially exciting possibilities for cap management for NEXT year.

If it’s true he’s going to the dragons good luck he’ll get smashed next week also we should be getting compensation for it

We absolutely should state a clause in that he can't start until Round 13.
Also my second point is that we got compensation for Barnett are we getting anything from Dragons?
If he leaves straight away, you'd hope they'll just pick up the whole tab, won't they? The compensation is the salary cap space it frees up. Shovel a bit on to CHT. That lad must be quietly interested in all this.

Do we still need wingers? Setu Tu is going okay 😜

Tbh tho, getting out of that LM contract unscathed and not having to carry any of his contract is fantastic.

We can now move on to how were spending his 900k for nek year...any home sick kiwis we can get our grubby mits on?

Also, LM leaving now frees up 400k for us for this year...what are we doing with that...

How much does it free up exactly? The salary is paid since the start of training camp sp we must be 60% through the year?

The dogs baulked on his asking price and chose not to make an offer. So the only serious offer that could be pulled together at short notice is the Dragon's who are running last. I do wonder if he was really wanting back to Sydney and this situation just gave him the opportunity to ask for a release, because it is a strange move from a career point of view.

I do wonder if the reports that he is going this year are a bit rushed. He had to get an offer and then come back to the Wahs to have it approved. I don't know if the dragons really have anything to offer? It is hard to keep him here if he doesn't want to be, at the same time we are genuine premiership contenders this year and if possible he should stay
