Probably another reason the Bulldogs don’t want to sign him is Galvin doesn’t want to move to 6 to accomodate Luke’s 7 ambition.
Surely even if it isn't luke at 7. They've gotta change something fundamental to change that putrid attack up. So it would not surprise me to see him move to 6 for a local junior like Campbell has at the titans.

He could have just stayed and worked hard and been a good number 6 for us. It’s childish. Been a few decent 6s who were the main men for their sides like Lockyer, Fittler and Wally Lewis.. fixation with being a 7 is weird
It was never in him to do that. He’s a bit of a prima donna. Always the bride, never the bridesmaid.

A lot of people talking about playing six. That is blocked too. CHT doesn't deserve to lose his place, he's our glue and he chips in nicely with an underrated amount of try assists.

Metcalf's choice was to fight for both 6/7 or wait for an injury. Despite his preference for 7, I doubt he would have been leaving if 6 was available.
CHT was off contract, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise if Metcalf was willing to play 6, we’d likely not have resigned CHT. The entire issue in this is Metcalf has recently and publicly expressed how he sees himself as a 7 and the ‘main man’. All this was born because of his reluctance to play 6 moving forward, we were never relegating him to cup long term when he’s on 900k. Also backed up by the fact Webby threw him straight into 6 upon return

Of course he would have.

Some dudes find out their missus cheats on them and go out and bang a 2/10 the same night. Same same
Luke was getting everything he ever wanted and in his eyes, we would have taken it away from him.
Somebody banged your missus once huh?
It's that age old paradox. When you have a girlfriend (/club), and you believe every other girl (/club) is after you

then you are single (/without a contract), and suddenly it's 6am and pickings are slim (/dragons)
You guys are revealing so much...

Well I must not be fit to manufacture a rocket scientist's shoelaces then because I expected the club to try and resign CHT regardless. I also don't put as much stock into Metcalf going into 6 at the expense of CHT on LM's injury return as you. I see it as Metcalf deserved the chance based on last year, but best performer wins the spot.

Undervalue home grown talent at your peril as a club. Culturally and logistically (despite whānau being based in Aus), CHT is a safer bet. You stack your side with those guys where you can.

Ya I'm team metcalf right now, don't F this up or we're stuck with $1.8M for 2 years of a disgruntled employee. How many times can you F up in a week lol
I personally think Metcalf shouldn't want to just sit out the rest of his contract in NSW Cup... who is going to want a 29 year old halfback on $1 mil then who hasn't played FG for the better part of three seasons and with his history of injury? His best chance to be on good coin then is to keep playing FG now.... and, unless TB gets injured or has a huge drop in form, that isn't happening at the Wahs.
