I know it’s divisive but if he can work out over a preseason at FB and model Walsh or Ponga, this is what next year looks like

1. Metcalf
2. WW
3. Anderson
4. Ali
5. AKP
6. CHT
7. Boyd (Jett/Linnane/Hansen/Thompson back up)

Cons: kick returns, running at back
Pros: avoid front line contact on D and shuttle runs, lethal support play and 2nd/3rd receiver and play Ponga like, justifies salary, keep star status
Work ons: high balls, line D like Walsh, dive on ground before kick return contact

The “ceiling” is high here

He's a student of the game, a real footy need. Hopefully we see him managed really well on his recovery.
Even playing reserve grade.

If I was coach I would want every player to also be fan of the game. To talk live and breath league. We all know that hasn’t been the case in the past. Too many casuals selected on pure talent and potential with no love for the sport.🏉

My thoughts on Mets are that there's a big chance that he never gets back to his best friend
His biggest asset is obviously his speed off the mark and his speed is probably the first thing to be compromised by his injuries
Unfortunate because for a team to win the comp has to have his type of x factor.
Boyd is going great guns but is not a game breaker at this point in time

I would love to be proven wrong

Speed players tend to peak in their early 20’s. Metcalf is 27. But 30 his explosive speed will be gone.

Lucky he’s a student of the game because he needs to do an SJ and really develop his game management.

Unfortunately, he’s also got the pressure of Boyd, a high salary and irregular game time through injury to try to execute it all.
