Can’t argue with that, but if Cleary is on the salary he is and what he’s done, in grand finals too, I don’t see Metcalf anywhere near that. If injuries are hindering him again, that’s not a good sign either. They say everyone is carrying slight niggles such is the season, but he was pretty non existent last week if injury is the cause? Cleary has had his fair share too recently

When did Cleary sign his $1.3m deal? When Panthers were last on the table and we were second, did you feel that Metcalf wasn't worth what Cleary was?
Not sure when Cleary signed signed for that? Maybe a couple of seasons back? Absolutely with panthers last and Warriors second I didn’t see Metcalf worth what Cleary is on. Cleary has 4 back to back premierships on his cv and I never thought he wouldn’t return to form. I’d written panthers off, not Cleary. Just shows the cream always rises to the top

I can see where Noitall is coming from, Cleary can wrestle momentum around in the 2nd halvs whereas we kept on getting chased down and need "clutch" plays to save our asses lol

Metcalf is not in the same world as Nathan Cleary. Not yet anyway.
Since one point one million dollars is not enough money to attract a top NRL half to the Warriors, I can't see how it could be called overs, or even a large marquee salary given what the market place is telling the Warriors (it doesn't matter if you have a million, no one wants to come here, one million is nothing).
This is why we always have spare change lying around, dead money, unspent cap, because we cannot use money to get the players we really want.
So if this scenario of Metcalf for a million plays out, then they should do it, and no one should lose any sleep over it.
