Being hyper critical for no other reason than playing devils advocate. If there is a weakness it will be a lack of footy IQ and bad temper.

Too early to say, he is young, and yes he has had flare ups including dirty play, but given his age and lack of experience I am not going to judge him.
It's not a bad approach. He's so now and marketable it could be the media who sweep his head into hyper reality mode.

Personally I would love to travel back in time to backhand my 19 year old self.

I hope he isn't and doesn't become disillusioned by the mundane and routine. The higher the heights, the further the fall. Stay grounded young Leka.

I think we have had 4 generational talents in our history.

1. Ali Lauiti'iti
2. Sonny Fai
3. Elise Katoa
4. Leka Halasima

Sadly one was taken from us too soon and the other two we let leave.

Hopefully Leka can be here for a long time.
He is on that trajectory and very early in his career. And stats wise he's not a giant or light enough to be fast but because he was put away nicely with the overlap he did a great job going 70metres.

Can't fault his willingness to not take a back step, I fucken love that! We need Uber confidence from these young lads.

It's his playground now!

He has a bit of dog in him. A little bit of street that will need to be managed. Nothing wrong with aggression but not the "I don't give a 86%# about anything" attitude. He and Demitric have that rough dog in them. Interesting that Leka is not that big but is still a couple of years away from peaking strength wise. With experience and playing to his strengths on an edge he could be something very special. Also he could end up chunky enough to be a middle, not that I think that would be his best usage.

Bad temper? We can only hope.......i want my forwards (particulary ones with that sort of power) to have a bit of that about them, we've produced far too many "built like Tarzan plays like Jane" types for my liking.

I take your point tho if it becomes a liability, but he's been penalized once in 8 games of first grade? Certainly nothing to suggest that he's a hothead in the Waerea Hargreaves mould. On the weekend just looked like an aggressive young fella who wasnt going to back down to the Tigers alpha (incidently May did the same thing to Marata in the first half, held onto him wouldnt let him get back in the line......Marata was giving his the triple karate chop trying to break free, good to see Leka wasnt putting up with it.....and plus he got the penalty from it.

Yeah not taking it closer to the posts and lairing it up before u score is never a good thing, but id put that down to a kid getting caught up in the moment (which he will need to temper) rather than an indication of footy IQ....plus im sure his team mates and coaches will give him enough shit that u wont see that again.

I think we've barely touched the surface with how we're using him. Atm its mostly just one out hit ups at set defences. Id love to see him used more in the attacking zone with shape and movement off the ball around him, so that he's running at isolated defenders rather than brick walls......i mean he is making considerable dents in those walls atm......just imagine what he'd do one on one.

Shirt holds would be easily sorted with Aikido.

Makes me laugh watching Rugger code players chopping arms, one wrist flick and the shirt grab is done for....as Jake said....to much Jiujitsu not enough Aikido.

Leka has a temper, seen it in cup. He nearly killed a bloke while the other player was being held and couldn't protect himself, probably a result of Mormon supressed rage. When you grow up in a cult, sports allows you to release a life time of smiley nodding and hugging with open thuggery...righteous anger even...

We shall see, shades of Konnie sushing the crowd while ignoring his team desperately needed a kick....

Youthful over exuberance is my take.He lose that soon enough.
