NRL Ladder Predictions 2025

I don’t like the raiders, but we’ve basically become a raiders like team without the coach sooking, very hard to play in a night game away from home, all grit and hard workers with a couple of explosive forwards.

That gets you 8th or 9th in recent years.

Every team except the dogs has turned in some real dud performances this year.
I'm ok with the dogs performing the way they are. When they lose it's going to be so entertaining.

C'mon, mate. Can't be digging up posts that far back. 🤣

Yup kinda their 2023 version, gritty defense and stay in the game especially at home, terrible attack relying points on drop balls/intercepts and individual brilliance

However Fogerty is a good half and that’s it for them, and our halves have the potential to grow, with how much we get into the red zone I hope we become a team that pumps 3-4 tries in those 20min spurts with momentum

I notice Egan hasn’t done much no look passes in the zone I hope he starts doing that later in the season that’d mean we’ve got the shape going

Noitall the favorite to win it this year
This is interesting.

Can see why Noitall is the favorite due to always posting the latest scoops. Definitely has the inside running to join previous year's winners geepee, bruce and richardfale.

Runners up:
Inruin for talking politics on a sports forum
MrFrankWhite for posting old man yells at cloud arguments in cryptic acronyms
Beastmode for starting random gym threads that make no sense
Sup42 for giving us the latest happenings from NZ's capital Huntly
Worried2Death for consistently naming David Bain and Gerry Brownlee in team list Tuesday

Any other accounts I haven't heard of so must be bots.

Remember the broncos fell from top to 9th in 2022 and the sharks were like 9-1 last year and almost fell out of the top 4 at the end, Dogs will be in the playoffs but not a guarantee to finish top 2 yet

Panthers are still a wild card on where they finish
A major factor is injuries especially in the halves.

It's a shit hole of a town in the Waikato. When they put a submission in to build a road that would bypass the town the cost/benefit segment simply said 'you won't have to drive through Huntly anymore'

It's okay, my home town is filled with a pack of nudists who can't even sit through one game of our fine sport.

One of our claims to fame is housing the 'National Aquarium of New Zealand', which I'm pretty sure has less fish than my nieces fish tank.

Keep trying. You'll manage to get through a game one day.

Im finding it interesting that we're a team in the top 4 yet have a negative points differential (the only other team in the top 8 with the same is Souths sitting at 8)

How can this be? Can we read anything into this? I think we can glean quite a lot tbh

So the negative obviously comes from we've let in more points than we've scored. Yet we're the 6th best defensive side, apart from the first half blowout against the Storm our defence has been solid, its been a strong part of our game.

Attack however, we're sitting at 13th in points scored, only 3 teams have scored less. So how do we end up 4th?

Further searching and the telling stats for me is
- we're leading the comp in set completions
-we're the 3rd best team in making the least amount of errors
- the 3rd best team for holding possession
-.......and here's a stat that should blow u one eyed Warrior tragics....we're currently the least penalized team in the comp!!!!

To me that all just confirms my eye test that we're probably playing the perfect game to suit our stremgths and weaknesses. We're a team lacking strike out wide, we've got developing halves weak on breaking down defences (confirmed by being one of the leading sides for the time spent in the opposition 20 with nothing to show for it) so we have to play the territory and possesion game. And then we have to have the defence to back that up, and then the discipline to not let opposition off the hook with errors and penalties........basically we're scoring our points by playing the odds in giving ourselves the best chance through time and terriotry, and then a disciplined defence to hold teams out.

Is this tough grinding football sustainable over 26 rounds? Im not so sure, but we'll find out i guess. This does tell me tho Websters no fool (as if i needed confirmation) he knows where we're lacking, we dont have the cattle to play a Manly/Bronco expansive style of game so why try that, we have tough, no nonesense, workaholic middles......and we're building a disciplined game around that.

it means we are pretenders at this stage and the bye inflated our position on the table 😂 if we get our attack going with RTS/DWZ back on the wings to finish we could turn the PD around and be a serious threat, with Fish back to shore up the D more

Quick thing people should consider is the context of our match ups. The two losses we have are against the highest scoring teams. Storm at number one with 208 points (and they've had a bye as well) raiders and broncos at joint 2nd with 198 points scored so far this season (both teams are yet to have a bye). So that accounts for our against being quite large. And means we have battled against some of the attack power houses.

Our for score is against these defensive teams: tigers 2nd lowest against score at 110, 6th at storm, 9th at broncos, 10th at raiders, 13th at eagles and 16th against the roosters. So arugubly we should of put away the roosters. But it feels like we missed the gold rush of points from the cowboys, eels and panthers.

All of the above is without the context who has matched up agaisnt who. I.E teams who have gone against the bulldogs will have a much lower against.

So i think it should make for a very interesting game against the knights. They are the 3rd best defensive team in the comp currently. Storm, dolphins and us are all equal 5th. With the dolphins taking true 5th place as they have not had a bye yet. Knights just have much, much worse attack currently. But we're only slightly better.

It will probably be 2023 vibes where points just started flowing suddenly in one game and blowing teams away and continues from there, I am thinking the dolphins home game 2023
