NRL Ladder Predictions 2025

If the tigers get the spoon you use a tigers themed avatar of my choice, if the eels win, I sport an eels themed avatar of your choice.

Until the grand final?

If neither team takes out the spoon the forum can choose a spoon winners themed avatar for both of us!

Open for anyone else to come into the bet if they think another team will take out the spoon?
How about the tigers and eels themed avatar? If neither win the spoon we shake hands and agree we both know nothing about losing.

Had the warriors 2nd last year, won’t be doing that again.

1 Panthers - when’s it going to stop? ⬆️

2 Broncos - don’t like ‘em but Madge should be good for a short term jolt, kevvy was always fraudulent. How exactly did they add Ben hunt without losing anyone? ⬆️

3 Sharks - will be good regular season ⬆️

4 Storm - another when will it end, not sure how they were minor premiers last year, we should’ve beaten them twice. ⬇️

5 roosters - same old story ⬇️

6 sea eagles - similar ⬆️

7 rabbits - superstitious Bennett nonsense ⬆️

8 cowboys - tend to get enough wins at home ⬇️

9 tigers - they might be alright, then next year people will predict big things and some new crisis will befall them ⬆️

10 warriors - honest season of toil but have to get super lucky with injuries (and when has that happened) ⬆️

11 bulldogs - more in hope that they will get a bit of what we had last year ⬇️

12 from here on it’s all just who get the most hammered with injuries no real order - raiders

13 dragons

14 eels

15 knights

16 titans

17 dolphins IDK no big signings no Bennett, someone has to come last if it’s not the tigers

No one seems outright hopeless this year

Pretty much my thoughts.
The biggest factor of success for every nrl team is having a healthy roster. Depth is always so important
Happens every year.
This year we are very thin in depth and we will struggle especially if key players go down

We have to remember the huge experience turnover (SJ, Tohu, Walker, AFB, Monty, etc) we've suffered this year and that we have a 30 game halfback leading us around. With that in mind, it really is insane that we are inside the top 3 after 7 rounds or roughly 1/4 of our season. That achievement needs to be acknowledged and is further testament to Webby's abilities as coach to get players to punch well above their own weight.

I think origin kicks around round 11, when all our hyphenated players come back (JFH, RTS, DWZ). We play Knights (H), Cowboys (H-Suncorp) and Dragons (A) from rounds 8-10. If we can win 2 or 3/3 to get to 6-3-1 or 7-2-1, that probably sees us inside the four leading into the origin period.

If that happens, I don't think 4th or 5th is out of the question for us this year. At this juncture, there really are only 2 standout teams (Melbourne and Dogs). We only play the Bulldogs once in round 23 and don't have to play the Storm again for the rest of the year. The other 2 places in the four seem up for grabs right now and there's no reason why we can't beat any of the rest of the teams based on current form.

Maybe I need to revise this post in a couple of weeks, but at this stage, I think we could end up anywhere between 4th to 8th. We are definitely an edge 8 team at minimum this year.

I'm picking us to finish 13 to 17.

1. Slowest team in the comp

2. Weakest backline in the comp

3. No consistency in dummy half (Egan getting knocked out every other week)

4. No consistency in the halves. CHT wouldn't make any other NRL team, Metcalf is unproven and already injury prone (that hammy and knee will only get worse from here), Boyd is a backup 6 at best, TMM was invisible as a 6 and has zero kicking game as a 7.

5. One of, if not the lowest IQ team in the comp. Can't remember the last time we got one over the opposition tactically, but can count endless dumbshit we've done on the field.

6. One of, if not the lowest coaching IQ in the comp. Webster might have traits of a good coach but his team selection, bench selection, position selection has been mediocre more times than not. Kicking coaching is non-existent. Halves coaching is questionable. 2023 was an outlier with SJ having a blinder.

6. One of, if not the softest team in the comp. We get shafted by the opposition, the refs and the NRL every single week. These repeated shaftings affect the team morale. Tohu Harris ain't the onfield leader we need. AW needs to drop the saints act and speak up when necessary. CG and the club must stop religiously holding on to 'the good guys of the comp' tag and do right by the players, fans and sponsors. Until and unless the club stands up for itself, we will keep getting shafted and remain everyone's bitch.

7. One of, if not the least skilled team in the comp. I can't remember the last time we kicked a 40/20, or scored a length of the field try, or scored off a torpedo kick, or scored off a chip and chase. Let's not forget our inability to kick us into field position, convert tries, penalties, or field goals.

Waiting for juniors to come good in 2 years time is no good if those juniors develop around these gaping holes.

Edit: I meant the weakest backline not the spine!
Ok

I don’t like the raiders, but we’ve basically become a raiders like team without the coach sooking, very hard to play in a night game away from home, all grit and hard workers with a couple of explosive forwards.

That gets you 8th or 9th in recent years.

Every team except the dogs has turned in some real dud performances this year.
The doggie bag is coming. Don't you worry about that.

I find them so unconvincing - thought souths was a chance before they started the game however... their defence is impressive, everything else, yeah, kinda like the worst things we say about ourselves
nrl season is so grueling that at some pt, every teams slightest weaknesses will get exposed. Dogs deserve some success so I am happy for how they are going but at some pt they will be found out too. But the kennel forum need to pull their heads in a little bit- they haven't beaten anyone yet. Most Insufferable fans atm.
