NRL Ladder Predictions 2024

Don’t get me wrong. I love Benji and the Tigers and hope they prove me wrong but I’ve seen it too many times where a team wins on adrenaline and can’t back it up week after week because it draining
Long season too and injuries are inevitable. As mentioned in the previous post, I believe depth will be their downfall this season but I wouldn’t be surprised for them to shock a few if they stay healthy either

This is a very tight competition this year and if you are a touch off your game, or lose a few to injury, then you are in trouble.

I’ve noticed the strong defensive sides look more likely compared to those that blow out other sides.

Penrith look good, Wahs look as good a defensive team as any (and a distinct improvement on 2023) and Storm, Broncos look good too. I’m really encouraged by our defensive structure and if we keep teams below 18 points, more often than not, we will win.

But man alive, there will be some upsets. Just this weekend, teams that were supposed to win (or were in winning positions) got Rick rolled. Manly, para, Canberra. Dogs should have beaten bunnies if they had any quality halves, titans gave up 30 unanswered points after being 10 nil up.

Got to get JD the sack this weekend if we can beat the bunnies away… they look like a divided team. But heck, remember Mt smart last year when Cody Walker played out of his skin…

What a comp.

watch the Tigers keep out the Eels in the first half for what must have been at least 3-4 sets close to the line... gave it their all ..some tough campaigners in Bateman, Papaili, and Olam ... Sezer, Korosai looked solid in the spine ...many younger boys stepping up

Another tough match away Tiger at Suncorp against the Dolphins ...If they can win their third that will get some attention with Dragons at home the following game...should take that to 4x .... 8pts ...27 rounds ... 28pts many times to make the top 8 so 14 wins ...but who knows I think it's going be close this season maybe 25-26pts with point diff to make the 8

Maaan it's still way to early to be saying who will and won't be in the 8 at seasons end.

No way anyone should be threatening a nudie run at this stage. I don't think you get to see true form until weeks 6-8.
Tigers look as likely as any of those mid-tier teams. Theyll need a bit of luck like most teams do, but if they stay injury free man, someone will be sweating bullets that last few weeks of the comp to see if the Tigers make it 🤣

John Morris is a smart operator- benji is lucky to have him there- they seem a good fit together.
Can’t see them making the 8 myself but it would be great theater if they did.
Paying $5 at the moment- we’re in to $1.57
I’m on us to make the top 4 @ $3.60.
That seemed a bit juicy to me…

Nice.
We are in a nice position again.

With our defence we only need to win half our games and expect a good shot at the top four in the last leg of the season. Our defence gives us a for and against that could see us on equal wins to a bunch of clubs but we way out of their reach on for and against hey.

With a decent draw (I know that isn't everything) and based on last week beating a last place team on the verge of sacking their coach the hype is going to be ridiculous. The Panthers game is going to be the big test, we lost our one shot at Melboure, think we play Broncos at Origin time? So that Panthers game we have to take very seriously as our best finals prep of the year.

We play the Storm again + Panthers, Broncos and Roosters, if we're able to win against 2 of these teams I'll be happy.

Ah forgot we get Storm twice. If we beat them or Panthers in a convincing manner (not scoreline, but they also bring their A game) it will bring us a lot of belief.
If we go down to all those top teams again this year I will be worried going into finals.
