I don’t do memes but the Gordon Ramsay (oh dear, gorgeous / You f**k*ng donkey) springs to mind with this forum for Boyd / CHT last year.

Helps that we have lots of wins in the bank this year but getting rattled by Jackson hastings mouthing off and missing that goal kick from out in front, that’s concerning if we are counting on him for the rest of the year. He’s supposed to do that basic stuff cos he isn’t going to do much else.

We have these stretches where our goal line attack looks impotent, was the same when metcalf was there, like the second raiders game, attacking, attacking, nothing looks like coming off. Not sure why.

he seemed quite happy in the sheds celebrating with the team afterwards. You are right though he seemed a little dejected in the moment and the bashing he is getting online doesn't help. Dogs and Tits fans are trying to compare him to Sexton after that one performance which seemed grossly unfair.

I think there are enough leaders in our team to keep his spirits high. This is something he never had on the GC where he was quite frankly thrown to the wolves after every mixed performance he had up there. We have the right environment for him to succeed but he needs time. I think he'll prove to being the game managing half we need to do something serious at the back end of this year.
Thought he looked quite stunned on the field even when Leka scored. Probably had started processing all the shit he was expecting to get.
He nailed the conversion over the dot though and we know he can kick. Just a bad night at the office.
He'll get plenty of support

Cast your mind back to 2023 SJ. He was rubbish at the start of the season.

Sometimes these players come with a bit of baggage and just need a bit of Webby time to shake that shit off.

I have faith in Boyd, if Webby has faith in Boyd. He sees a lot of what we don't and I'm sure that if he (and the team) is backing Tanah, then we are going to see a turn around in the clutch department.
Does Webby really have faith in Boyd? Or is it a case of no choice?
All throughout the season he was never given a look in. Even with TMM leaving he was overlooked and behind him in the early parts of the season. Maybe it’s a confidence thing Webby recognises. He doesn’t have that Killer instinct the way Metcalf approaches clutch situations. Last night might have been Boyd’s worst nightmare coming to fruition. It will be interesting to see how he bounces back this week. It will tell you a lot about his character.

To be fair I would have melted like butter if in that pressure situation and having a whole stadium of fanatical fans booing at you ..

Well, TMM would have been the alternative, so technically that's a choice.

I guess that I've never been a fan of the whole 'you've either got it or you don't' mentality. Icing moments like those are for the experienced. It's his second game, in our first grade system.

Other than that, he didn't have a tragic game, in my eyes. Atleast to the extent where he couldnt fix his issues with time. But you're absolutely correct in saying that we don't really have a choice.

You and me both, mate.

He converted two tries and failed under extreme pressure at the end. He made a better fist of it against the Tigers so don't crucify him just yet.

He was ahead but I thought with the charge down rule if you are the one charging it down every player on your team that is behind you is onside. For the team that was charged down everyone becomes onside.
If a player charges down an opponent's kick, it puts all players on the kicking side onside. However, players on the defending side who were in front of the charging player at the time of the charge down are now offside,The charge down is treated as the last player to play the ball for offside purposes.

So even if Leka was in front of the kicker(which he wasn't) He is deemed ok , And play on. Well. Thats how my dumb ass interpreted it.

I think CHT is looking jaded, not really engaged, missing tackles, making some poor decisions. He was AWOL for much of this match. He has earned some rest, a week off v the Titans might help. The TB TMM 6 and 7 has been red hot in cup and would be more than good enough for the Titans defense.
He made 27 tackles in that game. He has been very good all year at keeping that left hand side strong defensively. He will be an automatic selection for the rest of the year, especially with Metcalf injured.
People don’t see a lot of the set up work done on that side of the field. Have a look at the play before the Laban try against the Panthers. Everyone wants Leka in space but him and CHT suck all the defense in on the left hand side to create a massive whole for Laban on the right side on the next play. He has a job to do and he is doing it well

Yeah Boyd is fine.

Dunno why people were expecting him to make hard kicks. That is kicking for you. Good kickers struggle with hard kicks....because they are hard.....
I have no issue with Boyd..so the guy missed a couple of drop goals under huge pressure..and did a bad restart that went dead.we have all seen Sj and Pompey do much worse multiple times...I like the look of him he will be fine.
