Pompey to the right could well be the answer, we don't have a ready made replacement for DWZ so giving him a someone he can trust next to him could possibly help with some better decision making. The next question would be who plays on the left? I have not been impressed at all by Leiataua's efforts in cup recently. Capewell? EIT or Kayliss debut? We'll need someone with fast feet up against the Titans outside backs!

Fuck that was unbelievable... Leka you beast.... Knights looked the better team I thought,...... we better lift our game, Boyd and Dallin better do better, just not good enough
agree, thought the boyz were pretty flat, execution left a lot to be desired, which affected our forwards go forward, didn't really give tana a good platform to work in. seemed like the no tries and other calls from the ref affected us mentally - not in the zone??? still a wins a win, I'll take it any day, up da wahz!

Putting some perspective in re the knights. I know pre-game some of us all thought we'd be improving significantly our p/d points tonight. But when you look at their last 3 weeks, they really have pushed up a gear and I'd say have played the close to the best out of the bottom sides.

Knights over the last 3 weeks played 3 of the top 4 at home. Canberra, Melbourne and us. They actually pushed Canberra to the edge as well, only losing by 4 and having some dodgy calls in that game also. They outplayed Melbourne for 40 minutes before falling away after some bad injuries mid-game. Tonight they probably built up to the game of their season and we just got away with it.

I know we played one of our worst overall games tonight. But Knights played the game of their season and still couldn't beat us. That still says something about us this year. They probably beat most other teams tonight.

Boyd's last 5-10 minutes had a few moments that weren't great.

The kick off would be my main concern.

The first drop goal would have been nice. But drop goals are pretty difficult. He wasn't far off with that one.

The second one was one of those messy ones you get at the end of games when players all rush up. My kids thought it was funny as he nearly falcon'd the ref.

The penalty from the second drop goal shows the benefit good challenges and having one late in the game.

The penalty would have been nice. Overall though the last few weeks his kicking has been good.

We don't have a coach that will drop as quickly as he had at the Titans. Instead he'll get some attention from Webster this week and some confidence shown in him.

He'll be keen to fix that last 10 minutes and gets to turn it around against his old club next week.
He was fine, no coach would drop a halfback after that performance.

The kick out on the full was the only super frustrating one, can't be doing that as a halfback in that game situation. Awkward penalty spot, so meh. First drop goal was an uncontested one in front, should have maybe slotted that and other one or two whatever it was were hail marys.

He hasn't played FG in 12 months or so, and came from the Titans. Hes hardly going to be the holy saviour.

Oh nah I was still pissy in the moment when he missed the one off the tee. He lands that exact one everytime if it was a normal conversion.

But yeah he will get better under pressure in this system. I just think he needs time. Same with him and CHT together.
Yeah Boyd had the old choker syndrome in the last 10 minutes

Missed two field goals - one directly in front with zero challengers on the 3rd tackle

Kicked the ball dead at kick off

Missed a penalty directly in front which should have won us the game

Got his 3rd FG attempt charged down ……

CHT must be so happy he wasn’t on kicking duties tonight!!! 😂

Metcalf had the clutch gene
SJ the clutch gene

It seems Boyd might have what CHT suffers from

I hate ref bagging but Atkins was in full management mode.

- We were hammering them on their line that first 10-15mins but they were sleeping in the ruck it was hard to get a quick PTB to work attack off. Gagai then walks 2m off the mark through the markers and we get penalised for markers not being square. That was a complete momentum shift from that call. The fact they didn't have someone on the bin and only maybe one six again call during that period was silly.

- Bunker slowing down Egan's try frame by frame and saying there's no momentum, honestly farcical when you show it at full speed.

- Marzhew's arm didn't hit the ground no. But he is stopped not moving and Taine is on him, that is held every day of the week.

I once chocked in a cricket match 8 wickets down and 3 runs to win and I was the main batsman left and got out. So happened our number 11 had been demoted by the captain for capricious reasons and was a good player and he calmly smoked the ball through mid wicket for the winning runs.
Maybe 15 years later we were chasing some low total and I was the only main batsman left with the other end open to our tail. And I learned from the earlier failure and clutched up and punched the ball for two runs to win the game.
Tannah has also clutched up before. Titans beat the Warriors through a Boyd golden point Field goal. Finally his missed penalty at the end did comfortably miss, but he hit it well and didn't totally capitulate.
What I am trying to say is the fact we won anyway should see him bounce back.

Tannah is in a good system

The boys will support him and I’m sure he’ll bounce back

Matty Johns show they were asking Egan who would be giving Boyd the sledging after his misses.. it’s the sort of comment you expect from across the ditch.. ruthless
