Be a shame as it looks like he might have found his best role / best consistency now.

We really need to keep a 80 min gutsy effort player in this squad

Absolutely.

This year his line speed is off the charts, he is flying into the contact. Might get shot down here coz I dunno his stats, but so far the penalties and errors seemed a bit dampened down.

He is starting to look like a really good forward.

I get it though, we have these star young forwards here and are importing another on top of that. Got to make room and all that.

This might sound strange but why not change Fords role to mimic Barnett?

Hes already transitioned to Prop.
Put on more weight.
Slow his play down - he doesn’t have to be an 80min energising bunny and make a million tackles

Work on his ball distribution

His awareness and football IQ

I think he can tick all the boxes

Although his defence positioning was quite shocking in the trials and his error rate is high but I attribute that to him trying to play a million miles an hour

He was basically Barney’s replacement last year, probably missing the mental skills to organize defense and leadership

IMO a beefed up Cape is more like Barney with the same attribute (more SOO experiences too)
