Easy answer is bid what that player is worth to you.and that diversion strategy is probably not going to help teams with 0 second rowers![]()
AI does not pick the winner.I’m behind the 8 ball on how this will play out.
So we have simulated games each week. Does AI pick the winner? Are we auctioning to collect player ranking point where the highest will win or are there other factors? Players playing together was mentioned? Training, game plan? But the underlying total combined players points in the team is the most important baseline and getting the most in the starting squad is the best chance to win?
Can we get additional players through the game? We can trade players. So should we aim for late 20’s size squads or spend more on less players and have low 20’s? How frequent will injuries/ suspensions be?
Just some questions to work out a strategy.
Wow, super in depth game!AI does not pick the winner.
There is an indepth 80 min NRL simulation engine that plays out tackle by tackle. The probabilities are calculated from multiple interconnected factors and not just 'highest total points wins'.
Player attributes are the foundation, but not the only factor. Each of the 14 attributes affects in game events. So does Morale, Fitness, Form, Chemistry, Game Plan, Home Team advantage, Weather, In game fatigue etc.
Regarding Chemistry, if players are playing from the same Warriors Era, the players get a bonus. Additional bonuses the longer they played i.e. 60+ games together (legend duo).
Training: One session per franchise per round. You can choose a focus i.e. Attack Drills, Team Bonding etc. Higher intensity = bigger boosts but higher injury risk. We can go through this when we get there.
Game Plans: Choose the best game plan to suit your specific team. These are modifiers that affect every probability in the simulation. We can go through these when we get there.
There are Minor Injuries - Player can play but at lower effectiveness.
Major Injury - cannot play at all and expect duration of 2+ rounds.
Season Ending - Very rare but can happen.
Suspensions - Sin bins, send offs, judiciary charges. Repeat offenders get loading. You can fight judiciary charges or accept.
After auction rounds, you can get players via free agency. First come first serve at 100k salary.
Trades: 48 hour window per trade to accept. Can involve multi players and cash both ways.
Guest Legends: Blind auctions (same as the initial drafting), but are temporary players who are available for 2/4/6 rounds). Winning bids count against your cap even if the guest stint has finished.
I dont know yet for sure but i suspect 22-25 would be the sweet spot for a team with a bit of salary cap space left. A strong 17 man squad with no cap space is asking for trouble if a player gets a 3 round suspension and they will need to trade or be forced to cut a player. If they dont, the system will automatically do it for them for continuity.
I would recommend playing out the game as if you were in charge of an NRL side. Pair players together that suit. For example having a fast player i.e. AKP outside Kata (who doesnt pass much) is not optimising their team well. That said Kata may make powerful breaks himself and go for the try himself
Players with identical OVR in the same position will play the game differently based on their attributes. Some may be more dependable, some may provide better leadership or calming influence. I think the Mannering V Lauitiiti comparison was brought up recently. They play the game very differently.
Does that help? or confuse more?![]()
I'm planning on going all in on Manu as the chemistry bonus with Kata should be a significant game differential.Pair players together that suit. $1.65m by the looks of itIf Ali Lauiti'iti went for that much today, Mannering will have to be $1.6m+
I think he is worth it.
That excellent advice came after the bids were doneGood to see everyone took the advice to save some cap for post auction this round...
I’m pretty comfortable with my team thanks. You need a few stocking fillersOnly thing funnier than @Inruin not even bidding on Mannering is seeing Pyongyang offering peanuts for every player. Stacey Jones and hard labour prisoners getting closer to reality.
I've had a pretty good plan initially but have made a couple of rash purchases across the rounds. I blame @Mr. Brownstone with his Stacey Jones purchase round 1![]()
i have a team to build!!
I was multi tasking (as much as I’m capable of that)Such a curt reply. Gives offView attachment 16039
I reckon blind auctions, it’s quite a laugh when people bid up massive & there’s no one else interested, although of course with Brad Clyde the chances of that will be zeroJust thinking ahead to see if theres any particular preference
For guest stints, should we stick to blind auctions?
Or have an indicator that team logo has also bid on that player. Realistically most teams* will be bidding anyway so my preference is blind auctions.
* teams with cap space
We were supposed to plan???I've had a pretty good plan initially but have made a couple of rash purchases across the rounds.
I missed out on the ones I like.We were supposed to plan???
Isn’t everyone just bidding on players they like?
