Also thinks that TMM should be the playmaker and SJ should be a roamer.

SJ 6 and TMM 7. That is what I think too. But the problem is that it is mid season and all of SJs pre-season reps were at 7.

Hard call. Glad I don't have to make it.

Definitely adding SJ back in is not the same story as adding Capewell and Tohu back.

SJ was running the cutter across the field - TMM and CHT have it going North South. TMM and CHT are less spectacular but they play the percentages better and are more consistent.
On the other hand Shaun was the Dally M half back last year.

He feels a bit toxic doesn’t he. So happy we got Webby. What a get.
Its really hard to tell what his coaching credentials are like. He managed to get us to lift in 2020 which is an exception to what most interim coaches manage to achieve and had one great season with the Cowboys. Definitely some question marks around long term success though. Its noticeable in his interviews there is a real intensity to them. Sometimes his honest answers can be refreshing to what you usually hear though. Maybe too honest at times from a player/squad management perspective.

Yeah, I remember we improved under him and we were desperate to keep him. I was too. Pretty sad when he left because he seemed like a keeper. But even in him leaving there was a little stink. Maybe that was an indicator that he has a little toxicity about him. Webby in comparison, Wow! Feel like we won the jackpot. No excuses, almost always positive, knows his stuff and puts in the work. Really a phenomenal coach in my eyes.
I know Webby can be slow to change a team and is a little conservative but he has atleast shown he has seen the need for adjustment (Like slot the more
Mobile and quicker Ford in the middle). We came out winners in the long me thinks.

Some fans resonate with the idea of their being a turning point in the match, other fans believe all moments in a match are equally important. For the people in the first group I will share that the clear turning point in the match was Vaillea dropping the ball in the second minute. They all dropped their lips from that point onwards and you could see negative body language as they defended the mistake.

I reckon they showed their rings were dragging on the first hit up of the game by Ford. He took four of them on and got post contact metres. That was a sign then.

I didn't know that either. Is there such a thing as a 20/40?

20/40 is a relatively new rule and not seen often.

The kick for touch from a 20m tap has been a rule for decades but is rarely used. I remember Cameron Smith doing it against us at Mt Smart in the wet, a game we won and they were chasing points.

I think you would see more use out of it if 20m taps were not 7 tackles. In the last few years coaches have turned to contestable options like the short drop out more and more. 7 tackle set means you should be getting to a similar part of the field from the kick anyway

Quite interesting how Ford has taken to being in the middle. I expected him to get his beans but he's done well. Addin has the middle body size shape power speed smarts and ability. But Fordy did the job as a great partner for Addin. Oh well as long as we win I'm happy for even jazz to play and I don't particularly like jazz at all.

Rumour has it that Brandy is still mumbling about the Cowboys scoring 5 tries in 4 minutes 3 days later.

I know that sort of commentary gets up people's ass, but I love it.

Listening to their delusional jibber jabber, as they are stuck there doing their jobs, is amazing.

It's like when stupid coworkers quit, thinking they won't be replaced and then come back for a visit; finding that someone better has taken over.

Jackson Ford is an absolute monster, if he can sort his errors he will be a cult figure. 100% effort. Michael Luck-esque tackling machine.

Both the edges have cleaned up their defence so well, props to Pomptoya and Watene-Berryezniak
Ford in the middle is smart play
Easier assignment than edge
His engine saves an interchange
Tackle and effort

Ruben cotter mold

Just a bit of insight from the game. I have never seen a game where the 10 meters was actually 10 (normally 11 - 13). That makes our forward dominance even more impressive consider it was easier to get line speed than normal.

I absolutely love the big man on the edges. As long as our middle can hold, leave them out there. And of course they aren't getting burnt for speed out wide....

Do we think AFB, Ford, Tohu and Jazz are enough to match it with the top grade packs?

We have Ale, Bunty, Sifakula, Laban if Webby needs size or speed, if we're only trying to hold them and smash their little men with Barney and Marata out wide. Wonder if Capewah is strong enough to hold the bigger packs

I noticed how our inside players are pushing out quite fast to glide the D line, love it, probably to protect those 2 second rowers lack of lateral motion, D has been a lot better in the last few weeks
