🤖 AI Summary

📝 Summary:

Warriors fans express frustration over their team's performance and officiating after a heavy loss to the Bulldogs, with significant debate around referee decisions seen as biased or inconsistent. Multiple users #28 #119 detail early penalties and questionable calls that shifted momentum, while others #45 #111 argue the Bulldogs' dominance made the result inevitable regardless of officiating. Player performances are heavily scrutinized, particularly regarding halves combinations and kicking deficiencies in wet conditions—user #117 questions the omission of Boyd's long-range kicking, and member #14 criticizes specific players like JFH and DWZ. The impact of injuries on team depth emerges as a key theme, with several users #57 #105 noting the absence of key playmakers like Metcalf and Barnett has exposed limitations in attack and squad rotation. Coaching decisions are debated, including bench management timing for Healey #34 #36 and perceived safe selections, though member #32 defends Webster given injury constraints. Despite concerns about missing the top eight, some members #57 #69 maintain perspective on the season's developmental value amid the setback.

I turned off at half time. That's the first time in several seasons that I haven't watched every game of the season right through. I started watching the second half this morning but only got about 20 minutes in. I quit when Adam Gee awarded another very cynical 6 again at the end of a Bulldogs set.
I hate 6 agains. And Adam Gee. And right now the whole NRL.

We were very very unlikely to win last night. We are a decent team at full strength but we were far from that last night. I think even the diehard fans knew it. The officiating made sure of it. Kikaus try has been a double movement since double movements were a thing. Even Voss agreed. Not too loudly because he has his job to consider but he did comment on it. The lost challenge on the shepherd was ludicrous. As was Demi getting belted head high.
Add in the 6 agains and penalties at critical moments to keep the Dogs rolling and we had no show.
We didn't help ourselves by giving Gee opportunities to ping us, but probably 75% of tackles and play the balls could be penalised for something if the ref wanted to be pedantic.

I made the decision to cancel my Sky subscription this morning. It was costing me $55 a month. By paying that I'm both paying to watch us get screwed and I'm supporting the system that does it. Fuck it, I'll watch a couple of days later on YouTube or see what I can find on the VPN

I'm not saying that the referees are corrupt and that they're getting bags of cash from the NRL to influence games. Or that we would have won last nights game even if penalties and 6 agains were evenly distributed throughout the game. We weren't good enough. We don't have the players.
But I do believe that when a sport is big business and television rights are involved decions get made and the outcomes that produce the highest viewer numbers are preferred. And that anyone can be subtly influenced. Even the decisions made by the face of the business on game day
100%
I also turned off at half time. My first time doing so.
We would have needed to have been a 20 point superior team to the dogs to win last night.

It did tune back briefly to see some obvious make up calls so his stats wouldn't look too bad. Before he gave us those make up calls the commentators said the 6 agains were 5 to zero in favour of the dogs,

Do you watch the other NRL games? Everyone is getting ‘dudded’ every week to varying random degrees. The refs are far from perfect however there’s no special bias against the Warriors.

I call BS on this

The Aussie refs believe it or not, read the news, have friends out side of work and are influenced by where they were brought up, their mates, wifes, family and friends.... the refs are aussie born and bred. They grew up supporting sydney teams. To say there's no inherent special bias against the Warriors is blatant ignorance.

Ok cool, go on believing that with your fellow rabbit hole buddies. However I can guarantee you there’s just as many, that see your view as the ignorant one. Some just love a conspiracy rather than face up to the reality that our teams just not good enough to win at the moment.

Fish the most over rated prop in the game. He’s been outplayed by Clark, Demi and even Ford FFs what a waste of 800k. But he has aura lol. And Marata. Charnze is clearly having a sook because his dad moved him from fullback, 6 runs in 2 games.
Can Webby even coach, get Tangatatoa in. We’ve had the same problem with no solutions for about 8 weeks now. Healey was our best last week and we needed him on at about the 20 minute mark and he’s brought on with 25 to go, with the game gone?? Fucken dumb.
Sam should have started with his speed from dummy half. His try was a replica of one scored near the end of last year.

I'm not saying we're good enough. We're not.
And I'm not playing the victim mentality syndrome either.
Wasnt it obvious to you Gee has a clear bias against the Warriors. He has as a history of it.
Last night went exactly how i expected it would go. All 50/50 calls against us.
Continual repeat 6 agains for who knows what.. then the prick tried to square up the stats towards the end of the game by giving us 3 continuous repeat 6 agains on the first and second tackles.. what a joke
Giving this game to him is the NRL taking the piss....
But oh no, lets all be positive here.. its not the refs fault but he sure as hell didnt help

Lussick’s been playing prop in cup, so why was he our starting hooker. I still believe Healey is our best hooker to what suits our style of play. We already play slow motion, one out around the ruck anyway and with the return of Egan I only see it getting worse. Healeys tempo encourages attacking football. Also why did we go for an attacking halves pairing with no kicking game, when kicking possession and territory was what was needed. So many head scratchers.
Webby keeps saying the same thing in post match, we need to get back to the way we play which isn’t working any more, every other team’s evolving, we’re stagnant or getting worse

No that’s not how I saw it at all. Theres always 50/50 calls & even 40/60 calls that go against you at times, but you get the other side of them as well just as often. Theres no clear bias from Gee, just confirmation bias from everyone that went into the game seeking that ‘ref is against us’ narrative. Check out the pre game chat - plenty of you talked yourselves into before the game even began.

We have a 46.9% win percentage with Gee, not exactly an overwhelming bias against us especially considering our overall win percentage in the NRL since he started refereeing (2012) is 43%. If anything, he is better for us than the usual?

Feels like we lost this game on selections, Boyd dropped over TMM was questionable to start with, and to have 2 6's with poor kicking game at 6 and 7 in those conditions was simply nuts in my mind. That game was all about field possession and pressure, we couldn't kick it past their 30 metre line all night and were pinged time and time again with penalties and six agains. Edge defence was poor again from basically everyone, soft tries all night.

No creativity in attack at all, conditions didn't help but literally nothing but meat and spuds on attack seriously frustrating. CHT showed us what we all know, he can't lead an attack and has poor creativity and kicking game. I got Freddy starting over Healey, but the minutes should have been the other way around. Freddy play the first 25 mins, then Healey should have seen out the game.

I don't know what Webby has to do to get this side playing like a top 8 side again, it's been a couple months now with regression, while all other sides are building nicely.

Ok how about you explain the 2024 non call when Gee was video ref, to prove your not just a weird ref apologist.

Or the the clear shepherd that was a one in a million call of tackling the decoy runner.

Or the hollywood critter call

Just a coincidence Gee’s roots are with the Canterbury district.

One year can be copped. Two in a row nah

I’m not saying we don’t get bad decisions however so do all the other teams. There’s no specific bias against the Warriors. But go on finding excuses, it seems to be a common trait for a few on here across multiple threads.
