Pick Your Team Bulldogs v Warriors - [Round 23, 2025]

🤖 Thread Summary

The discussion revolves around the upcoming Bulldogs vs. Warriors game, with much of the conversation focusing on team selections and the impact of injuries. Recently, there's been disappointment expressed regarding potential key player absences, including Wade Egan #89 due to a reported shoulder injury, adding to the team's woes following Laban's season-ending injury noticed by Wahs_Ultras #76. Concerns about the team's ability to compete, especially with the mounting injuries to key players, have also been raised more recently by Tookey 2.0 #92. This makes it difficult to settle on a definitive team list.

A significant point of contention has been the perceived lenient treatment of Bulldogs player Crichton by the NRL judiciary, as noted by Evil_Mush #64, fueling beliefs that the game might be unfairly officiated or "rigged" against the Warriors. There are also concerns that the Bulldogs will be eager to make up for their loss against the Tigers, thereby posing a significant challenge for the Warriors, MXRecord #69 predicts a heavy defeat. Some still hold out hope, sup42 #47 suggesting that coach Webster might have a clever game plan to overcome the odds.

Many posters shared their preferred team lineups, with considerable debate over player positions and replacements, especially in light of recent injuries, even down to specific preferences for wingers. There's also discussion around the halves pairing, with different opinions on whether to stick with Boyd or revert to a TMM/CHT combination, as explored by MrFrankWhite #30 Neo #38. Concerns have also been raised about players being played while carrying injuries which were noticed by afakasi247 #46 with Leka being on the ground toward the end of the last game and Halasima's cramping, with suggestions that the coach should have made better use of interchanges.

No matter what team we manage to put out on Saturday, I cannot see any scenario where the boys are allowed to win. Creighton fine instead of 2 weeks min sit down is one piece of evidence, the other is the opportunity for the Panthers to jump into 4th, thus continuing 2 x Sydney fairytales.

Pick the team on understanding this reality and seeking a personal willingness and absolute commitment to leave nothing on the table from an effort point of view, and taking any crazy official decisions as positive reinforcement that we are being screwed and hence, we'll show them! You are dealing with new Warriors and we know exactly what's going on!

Webby should get everyone together and ask for volunteers to step forward😉💪

We can always get Lussick to take Crighton's head off 🤣 Nothing to lose

The way I see it is we've had a great year. Literally our best forward, and best back (who was winning the Daly M race) get season ending injuries which most teams would struggle to fill their void, but with the rest of the injuries we've had over the last month, we just simply can't compete with the top teams and we've struggled big time.

No shame in that at all. I think we can all see that while we have flaws in our team, but when we have 80% of our team available we're a chance against anyone.

I imagine we'll creep into the 8, but imo top 4 is long gone. Id be thrilled if we were able to get to the 2nd week of the finals, but for me the biggest key from here on out is to give some of the newer boys - EIT, TSS, Healey, Vaimauga, Leka (and hopefully Ali) a little bit more experience and a taste of finals at the end of the year. I think if even debut one of our younger wingers like Kali, lord knows if we don't replace Kosi he'll be getting 10+ games in first grade nek year anyways.

It's a shame our year has been derailed, but there's still plenty to play for and I think we'll be much better for it come 2026
