To me it seemed similar to the 2023 final. Big crowd and we were under the pump and at times we were struggling to contain them.

Willison for example when he came on was causing us all sorts.

Hopefully, with the young forwards we have coming through we can do that to teams in a year or two. Run over the top of sides with aggression.
I just felt we got physically dominated everywhere. We lost every collision and the only person who tried to change that was Clark and he got pinged.

The Broncos put a handful of really got shots on, I think we got 1. I know the game isn’t scored on hits, but we looked soft compared to the Broncs.

We still haven't addressed the speed issue from that game.

The Broncos went through some slim years bringing through their young crop. We need to weather the storm to reap the success in future years.

Yeah mate I hate resorting to ref blaming but something just felt off in this game, like Gee was only reffing one team and was looking for reasons to blow the whistle against us. Fully admit that we weren't at our best but it's hard to compete when it seems that it's not a level playing field.
Even the Australian chap I was watching the game with was surprised at some of the calls.

We were poor in a few areas so we will never know how much of an impact it actually had.

But yes, an even playing field should be a given in a professional sport.

Fish and Niukore got rolled by me old mate Xavier Willison. Our “Alphas”. In 13 minutes Willison ran for 50 more metres than our starting props combined. Imo Demetric is our best prop behind Barnett in terms of output on the field, which is a worry even tho he’s a hell of a talent. If we’re not gonna back our young boys in cup surely we’re gonna go to the market 1 middle who bends the line and 1 back if we want to save this season, which could start going down hill quick.

I thought we were really passive in our use of Captain's Challange. And the one call we did Challange was obviously the correct call...

regenerated borg, I see your point, but I've always thought the good teams try and impose their game plan on the opposition (ie This Is The Way We Play) and adapt in-game as needed.

Can we start a petition where the letters ACL get a 10 Week Ban? I have a sneaky suspicion both LM and CNK are going to be Season Overed this week. :(

Yes a disappointing game for many reasons stated above, but why so much doom and gloom, season over, woe is me reaction? We stand 4th in the table, 4 points clear of 5th. That's a great position. Look at our draw, there are a couple of huge challenges, but the rest should be mostly winnable with the right attitude and a fair share of the refs calls.

Our replacements are fine players, Boyd, TMM, Healy, TT. It will be a modified style that maybe just unlocks a confident mentality, and we can surely play well when we're confident.

I believe we'll bunker down after this one, and take a totally different 'we'll show you' mentality. We can do this without LM, CNK and Barney and get one or possibly two games into the play-offs. Then who knows. 4th spot is ours to lose at this time.

Whispers CNK may have done his ACL too.

Absolutely brutal if true.

Don't want to get ahead of ourselves until scans have come in but it's the sort of stuff that can derail seasons.
3 ACLs to two spine members and your #1 prop would do that to any team to be fair.
I think luckily we have (relatively) high quality spine replacements, but Barneys outputs will be what hurts the most.

Sure injuries don't help... but IMO for what it's worth you must coach a game plan against each team... we look the same against everyone .... shit I thought predictability was in the past... not even..

Thought the game plan was pretty effective.

Kosi bombed two tries, the fluke try on halftime with the chargedown straight to hand was a killer blow.

Game was pretty close. Kosi goes in late and it's 20-16 (or 18) and who knows.

We just weren't switched on was the problem in my eyes, error off the first set and concede immediately.

Start better is the key.

I also agree we lost partially due to no Barnett. We needed his composure in the first set instead Egan/Marata conspired to turn it over.
agree, our props were man-handled tonight, think we lost it in the forwards lack of go forward, noticed prev games we'd won, the 2 props and #13 (Erin)would wedge in, angle their runs just in front of the player playing the ball, and we had some good meters and got into a good rhythm, now last 2 games no wedging in, no angled runs??? must admit a wee bit worried now, also noticed Andrew Webster not his normal cool and collected self, he looked quite emotional??? dare I say, desperate even? sort of knew when Niukore not timing his run properly and dropped the ball, or was he supposed to even get the ball, I'm blaming dummy half, Egan looked slow and pedantic??? could tell straight off we were in for a hard night...barney must be more important to the team than I thought, thought with Fish and Capewah not a problem - bugger! oh well hei aha, just gotta suck it up!

So there's some pretty big adjustments to make now, and obviously this will impact hugely on the rest of our season. I mentioned in the gameday thread this will define the rest of our season, look out for a reset, and pretty certain the squad will have a different shape and execute in new ways.

Webster and the coaching staff have what it takes. This is an immensely difficult moment, and now we'll find out how the staff and players respond, and I'm picking it will be in the same manner as before these byes, with the ability to adjust, build and grow on demand, with trust that the players will respond.

We may not make top 4, and we'll be in for some hard to take losses, but for me as long as the team respond, and I believe they will, this will be a hard reset for the rest of the season, and one where we will benefit from as a squad.

It won't be pretty, but it will be rewarding.
