Will be interesting to see the halves all play with Shaun.
Freddy lussick might be our 17. This year , tough enough to play lock.

Freddy has 34 NRL appearances. Just saying he is an experienced option to turn to.
It is very funny that the Rooster apparently forced him on us when we only were after Volkman and now we value him and is our second ranked hooker in the squad.

I guess it is looking like Metcalf will be our 6 to start this season. Let's hope he feeds RTS well in this trial game.
Seems everyone is down on Luke for not passing. My thoughts from watching the games is that his vision is so good that when the opposition is up too quickly he makes a dash for the line. Passing with the rush defence is pointless and we get bundled into touch or risk an intercept. I wish others would evaluate by watching when he choses not to pass.

Gosh the posters on this site have good reading comprehension skills. That is precisely what I was saying but I only hinted at it as I didn't want to bag him. I do think he should have passed more to his centre and outside backs on his edge notwithstanding the rush defence. We do not want by round 5 to be describing him as a hungus and there is a chance he could end up with that label unless he and the coaching staff do an honest evaluation and he listens to feedback.

Interestingly they were only released this week, they were previously unavailable. So they must have been waiting to essentially sell out the stands before opening up GA.
I guess in doing so, it would make the stadium look less empty, selling tickets to the main stands first.

Almost as if they didn’t think our trial games would get the reception they have received…

Wouldn't read too much into TMM in the extended reserves with Walker there also.

Taine playing fullback is pleasing, he is good enough and ready so it is pleasing RTS has not been moved out of center.

Expecting everyone will get a run anyway.

Dolphins fire up against us. Bit of history there.

Freddy might be a Smokey for a bench spot. He’s definitely the backup hooker. His defense was really good in the trial. But like someone else pointed out in another thread his footy Iq is that of a rock. Wish we could give some of Egans to him to use!

That surprises me given he and his brothers came through good Oz systems

The 6 discussion is bloody interesting and I think all 3 players can be justified in different ways.
We all agree that we expect to be in the finals and a real premiership chance. So I think the most important thing is a big game player/cool head. TMM and CHT make me most at ease in those situations. Metcalf makes me nervous in a tight, high pressure game. His biggest asset though is x factor/speed which often you need to break the best defensive teams down.

As I said you can justify all 3....my head hurts haha

I agree 100.
Hes nowhere near perfect and combo with Shaun will take time.
Out of the 3 he has the most upside.
No sense in bland footy if we want to win this thing

Out of the 3 he is the fastest. That's all. CHT is the better defender. TMM has the ball skills. None of them can kick for shit. I hope Luke Hanson becomes the half we need. Cos when SJ retires we'll be fucked otherwise.
Webby and Shaun apparently disagree when you consider the selection process.
At this point in time anyway.
Trials are there to sort this stuff out

TMM & Metcalf had last year to sort it out. CHT would make a better 13. I just don't think they're the answer moving forward.
