General 2024 Membership

Good Afternoon,
I am in tbe process of purchasing membership for 2024 and would like some opinions on seating. This year I mainly sat in bay 16, but I am looking to sit on East Stand. I was looking at bays either bays 29,30,31 and 38,39,40.

Any folks here sit in these bays if so thoughts? One issue i had with bay 16 was not being able to see thr whole feild at times which has me leaning towards the upper bays!

Upper East 39 is great. That's where my membership seats were (I let it go when I left Auckland and was overseas too much this year to get it back, but next year it's where I'll be hoping to get my membership back for.

Thanks mate! How is the view like in terms if the field etc? And the higher up in the bay is it more covered from rain?

Upper East 39 is great. That's where my membership seats were (I let it go when I left Auckland and was overseas too much this year to get it back, but next year it's where I'll be hoping to get my membership back for.

Generally speaking the upper east seats are closer to the action than Eden Park's south or ASB stand (but it dies depend which row). It's also pretty well covered, except for in winter when that swirling south-wester blows in and the rain blows in horizontally

I have 2 seats in Bay 39 Row K and they are the perfect seats

Good elevation on halfway

Anything higher than K will be covered as we are just slightly above the "drip line"

I think the date to renew to keep your seats was Sept 16th.

I'm contemplating moving too - I'm usually row Q but had row E for the playoff and the proximity to the field was superb.

You have to be quick. Existing members have first dibs on seats that are empty come October. Many specifically ask for seats close to or next to them for guests. I don't bother . I don't have that many friends

I have 2 seats in Bay 39 Row K and they are the perfect seats

Bay 39 is right on half way if that is what you like, which I do. We are further down than Row K and dont get wet at all. It is the front 3 rows I think that get wet...so A B & C...bloody good view in those seats though.

For the finals they sold our seats to Newcastle supporters so we were in Row Y Bay 41 right up the back.

I was pretty disappointed until we sat down. Apart from needing climbing boots and ropes to get up there the view is massive. My missus actually preferred them to where we normally sit.

Those seats are probably less popular. so easier to get, but quite ok IMO.

Citygirl had seats at about the goal line in the nosebleeds in the West stand, she might have an opinion. I have been in similar seats down the other end. The view was great.

All in all there are no bad views at MSS IMO, except at the northern where the slopes are some distance from the playing surface.

I would not want to be in an uncovered area though, at all.

It's not that bad - I'm lower East and there's usually only 1-2 games a year where I wish I was up the top. Well worth it to be that much closer to the action for me.

Quick question - Can you buy a membership even though you don't live in Auckland, and never been to a game there but have in either Wellington, or Dunedin?

Or is it just for people who support in Auckland only because they attend most games?

Where you live is not an issue. There are lots of fans from outside of Auckland that have memberships.

Some stage in the off season they will announce all the different membership options which will include ones designed for those out of town with either zero or one game tickets and with the other perks included

The old bleachers at Carlaw were like that. Almost reach out and touch them. ice to be able to assist the touch judge as well

Have heard plenty of stories from the parents about Carlaw - smelling the liniment coming from the dressing rooms, and being able to feel the hits.

I'm unfortunately just too young to have been but enjoy hearing about it.

I agree there's no bad seats though. South stand looks to have a great atmosphere despite being behind the sticks, and my mates in the lower west rate it highly.

In England many of the old punters like to go behind the sticks. they can see the gaps opening up, at both ends.

The only smell I remember is the 70 years of piss embedded into the concrete urinals. Ahh those were the days.
