General 2025 NZ Warriors Membership

I remember this old fella . This bloke & those of his age & old school values taught me so much. About being grateful for what you have & sharing it becaude there is always someone worse off than you. There aren't many of that generation left now & the world is poorer for it.
Must admit as a kid I didn't always heed the advice & at 55 if I give kids that advice I' m told to f'k off old man or I don't know what I'm talking about. Glad to have met you Mr Dawson.

Do you know where he sat at Mt Smart?

I actually met him when I was about 16 working in Auckland before the Mt Smart days. We did a bit or a repair on his windows as I recall. He was good for a chat in those days

I know the house as it's near my office - would of loved to have chatted with him.

Sounds like the membership appreciation thing a Lilyworld went a bit pear shaped.
Big lines and they ran out of bubbles and food quickly.
Yea I sort of knew that once I saw the Auckland FC crowd before.
We got to Mt Snart at like 4:30pm and wS chocka block.

probz shoulda done better planning considering the extra seats etc

Yep, I showed up at 3.30 and the line for food was huge. We ended up just missing out on the food that was promised to members and the way to get it was not communicated well nor was the way to enter the raffle for the prizes? I'm still not sure what we were meant to do.

Similar to us - showed up just before reserve grade kick off - the lines for the bubbles was huge - I thought f it I'll just get a lion red.
Would of been a bit stressful for the membership team. Hopefully they learn from it.

Yeah a team of 3 so would have been pretty stressful for sure. I wasn't too fussed though, just got a couple beers and some food from the usual places.
How were we meant to enter for the prizes? I was more gutted about missing out on the chances for those.

Regarding the membership appreciation event at lilyworld, I was chatting to one of the staff members and she mentioned that they were punting on the fact that only a 1/4 or so members would actually show up. There’s no chance the club could afford to put on an event like that knowing every single member would show up

That's actually amateur hour. It seemed pretty last minute too

Email received ex club today

Thank you to all who attended our Member Appreciation Round game yesterday. While the result and weather may not have been ideal, it’s been fantastic to maintain a strong position in the top four — something we can all be proud of.

I’m reaching out to acknowledge and address the feedback we’ve received regarding the Lilyworld pre-game event.

In the Game Day Guide sent on Thursday 22 May, the Lilyworld event was promoted as running from 3:00pm to 5:00pm with complimentary bubbles and smoked chicken or brisket available. Unfortunately, we did not include important context that the food and beverage offering was subject to availability, nor did we outline the redemption process clearly — and for that, we apologise.

Our small team of three dedicated significant time to planning and executing this event, including estimating attendance numbers for catering purposes. On game day, we quickly realised our estimate was well below the actual turnout. We responded by working with the stadium to triple our food order on the spot to accommodate as many members as possible.

Despite these efforts, we experienced high volumes of attendees arriving at different times, which resulted in long queues and understandable frustration. In hindsight, we should have better managed expectations and communication around availability, dietary options, and event timing.

Regrettably, the situation led to a number of our team members and stadium staff being subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour from some attendees. While we take full responsibility for the planning shortcomings, we ask that all feedback be delivered respectfully. No one should experience abuse in the course of trying to provide a positive experience for others.

On a more positive note, we’d like to acknowledge and congratulate all our prize winners from the Member Appreciation Round. Your reactions and enthusiasm were a real highlight for us and a reminder of why we do what we do.

If you have constructive feedback regarding the game day experience, Lilyworld event, or any other aspect of our Member Appreciation Round (beyond the food and beverage issues already addressed), I encourage you to reply directly to this email. Your insights help us continue to improve and evolve our offerings.

Finally, we’re working on a member-exclusive meet and greet in the near future — details to follow soon. We appreciate your continued support and patience as we work to deliver the best experience possible for our members.

Thank you again, and as always — Up the Wahs/Go the Warriors!
