Politics đꤎ Donald Trump

The armchair economists have been a bit quiet lately

“Trump’s higher tariffs are certainly raising money. They’ve raked in more than $236 billion this year through November.”

I wonder who is paying that money? Surely not American consumers.

And can you explain to me why having a trade deficit is inherently a bad thing? It wouldn’t be a side effect of having the world’s dominant reserve currency, would it?

Why are you seeking my comment? I constantly profess my lack of deep economic knowledge. Nor did I prophesize about the effects, good or bad.

Perhaps you misunderstood what the comment above the link meant.

DRAIN THE SWAMP!!! DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!

Yes I am being sarcastic and passing comment on all the previous beliefs that Trump would have integrity, honesty and not be corrupt.

I thought your post regarding Vance talking about the threat being countries like UK was really interesting and get the feeling that the American and Russian ties will grow if America has it’s way, but also Russia’s relations with countries opposed to America like China blur the lines? Russia almost seems to have a foot in each camp

IMO Russia has been playing a very, very long game quite successfully and manipulation of Trump and the Republicans in particular is part of their strategy.

We're seeing things that would have been unthinkable even 10 years ago.

Europe seems to be their biggest threat now, neutering America seems to be quite successful at the moment.

In terms of alignment with China etc Russia will do whatever's in their best interests. A weakened West (or whatever the West is) is 100% non negotiable.

Many unprecedented things we’re seeing and in terms of history, we can’t forget how vital Russia was in world war 2 to the outcome. One thing I see this American administration and Russia have in common is white pride and I wonder if that’s the binding factor? Also unprecedented is an Indian leader at a Chinese military parade, it seems to me there’s an understanding of what’s on the table here and countries traditionally foes are finding common ground

This poor bastard looks so defeated in this footage. Absolutely criminal what has happened to Ukraine throughout this and now it’s hard to see how they avoid what Russia are seeking completely

I can't get past the fact of Russia being the aggressor. Putin won't stop at Ukraine, not now, his career and probably life depends upon it. What's also common between America and Russia right now is they're both metaphorically and headed by schoolyard bullies, who also happen to be aligned with white (shite) supremacism

If Europe steps up that puts a brake on all of this.

Europe has to now because they can’t gamble on Russia stopping at Ukraine as you mentioned and creating life very tricky for those around them in many ways whether that be economically or whatever? And they can’t rely on any American support. There’s also the elephant in the room regarding the power China possesses and Russia really could lean either way whether that be to America and the white factor or China and the shared communism factor between the two countries? Either way Putin is in a strong position. America has bullied most countries but China is where they’ve met their match and the bullying didn’t have the same results. Apparently China is going through a downturn at the moment as most of the world is but I believe we’re in the advanced stages of a shift in the global superpower of what America was and embarking on an era of Chinese dominance, it’s just how the complete shift occurs?

Completely and utterly avoidable. Great way to get a million men killed AND have to make large concessions than before. Thats high level leadership right there

Avoidable in what way? They weren’t the country implementing the aggression. If we’re talking about any view of Russia concerned of any Ukraine interest in joining nato, surely countries like Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland would have every right to be concerned all sharing a border with Russia
