Politics 🤡 Donald Trump

The other one that should be listed is the celebrities. Oprah saying if you don't vote for Harris you may never be able to vote again. I'd like to have seen her explain that one.

I was talking to my wife, who's in marketing, about this. She was adamant this wasn't true, but I wondered if celeb endorsements have become kind of a curse.

Think about it.

1) There's a huge anti rich sentiment
2) There's a popular perception of guilt by association with criminal celebs like PDiddy and Epstein.
3) Celebs are generally considered out of touch with the common 'struggle'. (See 'imagine' celeb cover during lockdowns)

I dunno if I just missed it, but I really didn't hear about many of Trump endorsements other than Rogan.

All just part of the continuing want for change.

Brexit; trump; Wellington protest; riots in the US. Record low results for National/Labour last election. There’s a simmering disharmony in how society is going.

I don’t think the left or right get it in the West. The declining outcomes for the middle class via globalisation.

People didn’t vote for Trump. He’s old, failed last election, criminally dodgy and lost the debates. So the more people write off because of who Trump is instead of why he’s successful, the more the underlying issues will fester.

The best outcome here is that Trump sets us up for a jd Vance presidency then the stage is set to stop the continuation of the same group of our of toich elites parading through. But that also requires the dems to realise this and start bringing real people through.

Obviously was a fair election. Harris has conceded in the normal fashion we’re used to, and nothing from the trump administration who were concerned of a rigged election going into it and saying cheating was going on early in the election. Was it always a rigged election if he lost and a fair election if he won?

What isn't true?

Oprah definitely said it. I have seen the clips posted in different videos covering the election. She was at one of the rallies saying they can't sit this one out as they may not be able to vote again.

The celebrity endorsement probably have a place to an extent. The problem is it is getting over the top. We also hear from them a lot more now which doesn't help especially when they have out there takes on life. The Avengers one was particularly cringe worthy.

My wife is also in marketing. It would be a case of is the person just endorsing you. Or they going to open their mouth and be a liability?

Sky news over here just interviewed someone about the Arab/American vote in Michigan and how they felt let down over Gaza so voted for Trump. I mean how f*****g stupid can you be, he’ll probably uncouple what restrictions the Americans currently have on arms to Israel, he doesn’t give a flying f**k about anybody in Gaza

The Democrats don't care either (overseeing 12 months of barbarism) and actively suppressed Arab and Muslim voices during the campaign. Your argument is 'better the devil you know'?

Trump still has a few cases being prosecuted against him.

I'm not across all of the details of these. Just heard some discussion on it yesterday. One has some law debate around it for documents. I've seen lawyers discuss this a while ago and say well he was the President so he has the power to unrestrict the document etc. I'm not 100% on that and they likely have some political bias.

Mind you Biden and a few others had restricted documents at home as well.

One of the cases it seemed like could get ditched now he's been re-elected. The other may get pushed out 4 years.

I did hear a clip with the prosecuter this morning and she seemed intent on following through.
