The thread centers on New Zealand's upcoming election, primarily debating the economic management and policy differences between the center-left Labour government and center-right National/ACT opposition. Key criticisms target Labour's fiscal stewardship, citing ballooning government expenditure #7#272, housing unaffordability, and unfulfilled promises like KiwiBuild and dental care expansion #16#12. A user #7 highlighted Labour's annual 9% spending growth versus 1.5% under previous governments, arguing this fueled inflation. National's tax-cut policy faced scrutiny over funding gaps and legality, with user #215 questioning Luxon's reliance on "trust me" assurances.
Leadership competence emerged as a critical theme, particularly in later posts. Luxon drew heavy criticism after a contentious interview where he struggled to defend policy details #194#199#211, while Willis faced backlash for her economic credentials. Hipkins garnered fleeting praise for articulation but was ultimately seen as representing poor governmental outcomes #45#119. A trusted user #308 presented expert economic analysis contradicting Treasury optimism. Infrastructure issues—like Wellington's water crisis and the dental school staffing shortage—were cited as examples of systemic mismanagement #235#12. Notable policy debates included road-user charges for EVs #220, immigration impacts on rents #299, and coalition scenarios involving NZ First #182#258. Early fringe discussions on candidates' rugby allegiances gave way to substantive policy critiques, culminating in grim Treasury forecasts discussed in posts #271#304#308. User #168 also revealed concerns about Labour rushing regulatory changes to entrench policies pre-election.

Loool. While Tamaki is a bigot, why rules for me, but not for thee?Confirming you're on the side of the bigots, but I already knew that. Good luck with your bogus culture war, enjoy your homophobic misogynistic friends.
Sorry, wasn't aware of anything like that, I've only read the daily blog. While I don't agree with some of it, I thought that post was accurate enoughbomber is a fucking knob. we used to be in some of the same circles around that same time, early 2000’s
and to be honest i can’t wait till his behaviour from back then comes to light.
vile human.
No idea what you're on about Frank sorry.Loool. While Tamaki is a bigot, why rules for me, but not for thee?
If the laws very specifically say crossings have to be black and white, why are they allowed to be multi colour in this instance. Ergo why must a majority follow the law but a minority dont have to.No idea what you're on about Frank sorry.
It’s a case where morally right clashes with what’s legally right. If the laws very specifically say crossings have to be black and white, why are they allowed to be multi colour in this instance. Ergo why must a majority follow the law but a minority dont have to.
I'm not sure if you guys have seen the crossing but it isn't an actual 'pedestrian crossing' or zebra crossing, so it does not need to be black and white. If the laws very specifically say crossings have to be black and white, why are they allowed to be multi colour in this instance. Thanks Damo, facts never hurt eh.I'm not sure if you guys have seen the crossing but it isn't an actual 'pedestrian crossing' or zebra crossing, so it does not need to be black and white.
It's just a normal crossing at traffic lights that you use when the little green man lights up. The one in Gisborne is also a courtesy crossing, not an actual pedestrian crossing. There is no circumventing of any rules here.
Lol, a few need to reflect after reading this.I'm not sure if you guys have seen the crossing but it isn't an actual 'pedestrian crossing' or zebra crossing, so it does not need to be black and white.

I’ll be helping my kids!I can help you pack Wiz.
Im not sure questioning should result in reflection. Seems its a mural, ie an artwork and Tamaki is proved to be a bigot yet again. Nothing contradictory, or hypocritical. No group is above examination, thats how facts are established, as evidenced here.Lol, a few need to reflect after reading this.
And risk becoming a grumpy old bugger?I’ll be helping my kids!
I’ll have to stay here frustrated and longing for the good old days like all old people eventually do…![]()
Sure, but there's a fair bit of knee jerk outrage also.Im not sure questioning should result in reflection. Seems its a mural, ie an artwork and Tamaki is proved to be a bigot yet again. Thats the whole point of outrage culture... To get people to leave critical thinking behind and attack each other.Sure, but there's a fair bit of knee jerk outrage also.
Fresh out Australia. 2 points; This is pretty much how I learned I had a different skin colour, except it was face to face with a 30yo skinhead in chch, screaming this at me and telling me to suck his dick. I was probably 7. 2nd, I thought wed solved this by banning Spencer for 8 weeks![]()
( was crack up seeing him in the crowd with 2 darkies, while suspended for racism

Point is while people are arguing over a rainbow flag painted on a road, which seemingly violates your own roading bylaws, the real problems still exist. New Zealand's DV rates still climbing along with obesity and mental health crisis...

I'm starting to come around to the idea of capital punishment, I've got to that age where you start turning more conservative and you hate the music at Mt Smart on game day and start calling for the death penalty. You wake up listening to the Mike Hosking breakfast after another one of those dreams about Erica Stanford ...I've said too much.No point talking to a prick like that yelling at kids, good reason for the death penalty. Same fate that skinhead from your childhood deserves.
