Was Germany still a democracy in the late 30s?
Technically it ended in 1938. Hitler was still elected and most democratic countries supported him. Remember Britain only declared March, 1939.
If anything it was Communism vs Fascism, but I doubt old Norm wants to make that point.
I know there were a minority committed to communist ideology in the 30s, but were they really a threat to German democracy at the time?
Sorry, general research says kaka to hitler being elected in or around the vicinity of 1938, which is what your statement implies. The first few reputable, factual search results report democracy ending in 1933/early 1934.
Also, more kaka in the second statement. Most democratic countries did NOT support hitler pre and during the war. Support is of course ambiguous.
