This is an international tax net that we’re just a bit part of.The previous and current government's seem to have no idea on how an "efficient" tax system works. The law governing companies moving their profits overseas was passed by the previous government and now supported by the current. But, the legislation is so clumsy, it's been reported to both governments that it would cost the country more to administer than it would generate.
DOH!!!!
‘Hugely complex’ tax likely to cost NZ more than it yields
New global minimum tax may be shredded under Donald Trump presidency.www.nzherald.co.nz
We sort of don’t have much option here but are pressured in to follow the international system that benefit all and create a level playing field.
We all know though the big player will just find a way around it, but this has been bought in because of that very reason.
