Same thing happens in Australia. Commies always cry about "billions in fossil fuel subsidies" except 9/10s is the diesel fuel rebate for mining vehicles ie an improperly collected tax.

Also consider most iwi are eligible to become charitable trusts and pay NO TAX (Tainui, Ngae Tahiti, etc) whereas most other businesses can’t…

It would be interesting to see what becomes of the review into charities and the tax status of the "businesses" such as Sanitarium and the social housing provided by the likes of the Sallies.

They are a money making entity designed to build a property empire for the owners with the non profit business fitting out and setting up the building… big tax dodge where they bent the rules to get into charity status.
