Unless it’s attached or is over three storeys high, it doesn’t require a building consent but some councils do require it get inspected before it’s removed to ensure all services have been removed.I’m removing a house and have got the house movers all lined up for a couple of weeks time and then the council says we need building consent to remove it???

Ohhh. It’s all blowing up. Basically the Diddy lawsuit uncovered a link to Michael Jackson and a link to Epstein. The Epstein link of course is Israel and Jewish business connections. That’s turned into uncovering Israeli influence in US and foreign government.Pretty quiet here.

From the Auckland Council site:
Under Exemption 30 of Schedule 1 of the Building Act 2004, a building consent is not required to remove a building from a site if it is a stand-alone building and is no more than three storeys high. This means that if you want to remove or demolish a building, a building consent is not required.
If it’s going on to a removal companies yard, that wouldn’t need a consent but if you were moving it either on the site or to a new site, that work to site it would need a consent. TBH, quite a bit of the time, building officers say something will need a consent if they don’t know the answer.Awesome info thanks. Crazy.
They said if we demolish we can just submit a clean site form. But removing we need a building consent - the guy on the phone seemed unsure about why. I was just going to say we removed the reusable parts and demolished the rest. Now I can quote this!

The issue here is the media commenting on stories about the media where they have a conflict of interest. That’s where you get bias!
If a private landlord rented a house in that condition they would have the book thrown at them.While you’d like to think that most landlords would look after their tenants to help protect the value of their investments, this woman (I’m actually thinking of much stronger language but don’t want to be banned) is an absolute slumlord. I think she should be forced to live for at least 12 months in the conditions she expected her tenants to live in!!!

If she’d gone through the proper channels and entered into an agreement to lease it to HNZ for emergency housing for a four or five year period, HNZ would have paid to bring it up to a healthy homes standard, undertaken the repairs and maintenance and renovated it again at the end of the their lease.If a private landlord rented a house in that condition they would have the book thrown at them.
If a slum landlord like this one rents multiple rooms out for emergency housing, no issues.
$650 pw for a room. Previous Govt was happy to throw money at these landlords to provide slum conditions to the vulnerable but impose strict healthy homes standards on all other landlords, the only exception to the rule being KO.
