A smoking gun without smoke or a barrel
Budget hyped as proof of 'fiscal vandalism' has no real surprises, no blowout of deficits or debt & few tax cut details; Govt's plan is 'fiscally neutral', but not distributionally neutral

Safe to say that tax cuts are completely unaffordable thenTry reading my first post again where I said Willis was wrong putting the blame as much as she did on the previous government. Like I said, you and Campbell are ignoring the previous governments roleā¦.. just as Willis didnāt acknowledge the Reserve Bankās role.
And never have been if you listen to Willis.Safe to say that tax cuts are completely unaffordable then
happy xmas everyone, I will endeavour to stay over in the gameday forums moreAnd never have been if you listen to Willis.
She has been warning of doom and gloom for a long time yet her major election bribe was taxcuts. Unfortunately people have been blindsided.
Be interesting to see the end result.
Do we get a chippolatta or something bigger.
But as Nicola said its not the size but how its delivered
Hopefully my missus doesn't see this.

Haha WTF, Queenstown lead the country in the rental crisis starting around 10 years ago. How is this news?Queenstown has been joined by places like Northland, Tauranga, Waiheke, Rotorua, Kapiti Coast and Nelson as having a rental crisis. Why? Because a number of landlords have changed their investment properties to Air BnB or Bookabach for short term accommodation.
Theyāre making more money, donāt have to deal with long term tenants, can still use the house during the year and can claim 100% of the mortgage interest.
And whatās the consequence of this? Rents are been driven up on those still in the rental pool leading to a rental crisis.
But letās not try to make owning a rental property attractive again, because that would put rental property owners back on an equal footing with every other business which can claim all their expenses on their tax bill. No, weād rather have a crisis, less houses rented out and renters paying more for those properties still being rented.
The left: housing is a need and it shouldnāt be profitable. Hey Mike - IT IS THE GREEDY LANDLORDS. But anyway, try building new, and regulating air bnb, also a bed tax for travellers. The left: housing is a need and it shouldnāt be profitable. Letās make it uneconomic.
Also the left: why are there not enough houses available? Why is my rent rocketing up? I donāt understand⦠must be greedy landlords![]()
