I’ll watch the highlights later, but it sounds like a good days cricket with both sides having periods where they had the upper hand.

You can never tell what a pitch is like until both sides have had a bat in it. England need to go big batting second though. I think we need 400

What I would judge our coaching and the last few years on:

- Improvement in batter average for most players over time
- improvement in speed/ accuracy/ swing/ etc for bowlers, representing an improvement in wickets taking stats over time
- several players in peak form at any one time
- a player or 2 reaching career best form every season
- improvement in developing youth players - a new group coming through pushing for positions
- opportunities to develop players at the highest level
- fierce competition for spots if players are out of form

I don’t see most of this happening over the last few years under the current coaching and player leadership team.
