Is he still kicking? Where was his property/house situated 35 years ago? Do any of you guys have a GPS coordinate or similar? I’m even curious to know where Sven Urban Hoglin has his stone memorial, GPS/map.

Unfortunately yes he is. Maintains he knows exactly what happened to the Swedes, and that he had nothing to do with it. Which is horse shit. No idea where his house was, but he obviously spent time at the Taikato farm in Parakawai, Sven’s memorial is somewhere near 37.25551° S, 175.82136° E.
Don’t think it’s easy to find.

No idea who took her, but they assessed her injuries, put her in a room and allegedly forgot about her, and maybe forgot to call the surgeon they decided they needed. By the time they found her in the room, and got the surgeon there I think it was too late. It’s mentioned in the podcast I believe.
Atrocious case of maltreatment, no idea if her family took it further. But he could never be charged with murder after that, in fact she should be alive today. Not to take away from his evil deeds since that, he’s a murdering rapist I’m sure.

Thought 1: Tamihere was on the run for over 3 years in the Coromandel. He stole the tourists car, headed to Auckland and was spotted and arrested for jumping bail on his previous charges.

This was before he was ever a suspect in the Heidi case, which took a while to realise they were missing and track the car to Tamihere. When police knew he was a suspect he was already in custody.

So what’s the chances that the one time he decides to leave the Coromandel and get caught, is the time he stole a random murdered peoples car and their being no link?

Isn’t it more logical a significant event happened resulting in him changing the way he had lived for the past 3 years? Eg involvement in the murder?


Thought 2: Wishart’s book identified a Huia Foley who was violent, in the area and allegedly admitted to the crimes twice. Im not familiar with this suspect. Does anyone have more info? Would he have had any involvement with the Turners or Tamihere? Is there more evidence in Wisharts book than the confession?

I believe Donald Turner Snr covered up the murders of the Swedes and used Hughes to set up Tamihere with the knowledge he knew of the murders. Tamihere was involved but so were the Turners.
Don Senior had information on Hughes and used it to ensure his sons were protected.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the gear found at Tamihere house was planted.
Hughes also influenced the secret witnesses and also the 2 trampers at Crosbies to ensure their statements matched the evidence he had.
This played a massive part in why Heidi has never been found I believe.
Him and Del Read totally ignored any other evidence or statements that put the Swedes elsewhere on that weekend. It also ensured the Turner brothers were not involved. Ryan’s podcast has changed all that so well done to him.

I think it was more Hughes had a convicted killer suspect and that was good enough for him. The Turners could have set up Tamihere independent of Hughes, I don’t know.

Then fled overseas but was finally convicted.

Turners and Tamihere have both killed outside the Swedes.

He was only ever convicted of perverting the course of justice over the Armstrong killing.
Tell me how that happens???
He has been protected for years.
